I like doing damage but I also like to be able to take at least 1 hit before I die. If I can get into the enemy back line that is wonderful but I do not mind having the ability to peel as well.
I'm mainly looking for mid/top champs and I will consider being a one trick pony if the champion fits.
I don't want to support or jungle :)
Urgot - He can be super tanky or you can build him for damage. He can be played mid or top and will always be a contributor in team fights with his passive. He has decent 1 v 1 potential depending on how you build him and how far ahead you get. I've even used him bot lane or jungle (although I haven't tried since the changes) and he does pretty well. You could even play him support, he is one of the more versatile champs.
Lissandra - She can really take a lot of damage, she can output a lot of damage too. She has mobility to get to the back line. She doesn't really have great peel IMO. She was played both mid and top last season.
There are others such as Vladimir, Yasuo, Jayce, Kennen, and Ryze that get played both top and mid but as far as champs that I play
Yorick - He is really fun. I played him both before and after the rework. He's not a great choice for mid lane but depending on the matchup he can be a great option top lane. Old yorick had no counters, new yorick can get counter picked so if you're going one trick I would not suggest yorick but I had to mention him because he is one of my favorites

Mid and top? Hm...
Alright, listen here, closely, Imma share a secret with you, 
is perfect, seriosuly, she gets natuarally tanky with items bought, serpahs, rylais, roa, and a GA as last item, she scales perfectly, is a counter to most (so far) assassins, and shreds tanks like no ones business, has an oppressive laning phase, and ult that people don't know how to dodge, lul, seriously, is perfect rn, she also kites like no ones beuisness, making voldi, poppy, general "run you down" type people much more useless. she has lockdown with r and w, her q is a ms bonus, she is basically an apc. ALSO you can play her mid or top, if you are mid, well, play her, if you are top against a tank, out push them, and when their jg comes, R + Q + E + E + W + E + E + Q + E + E and you burst the jg down (unless a tank) but you still shred them, and you outpush any and all tanks.
As for assassins, Talon? nah, w him and blow him up, zed ult you? Nah, w and flash on hit, he cant w back to his shadow. Yasuo ult you? Nah your r goes through his w, or w and flash on it under tower. LB all in you? Nah, w her w ghost and lay into her with return damage you will win. Kat all in you? Nah, w her reset daggers, she is now useless, blow her up. Rengar all in you?......... I.. I have yet to play that matchup yet actually, soz.

Basically never banned, has a shield to take at least one hit, does damage. Can peel an enemy off an ally with ult.
