This is a joke, Riot

Right, so, Jhin.

I enjoy him as a champion and I think he's in a pretty okay place. He doesn't gain the extra attack speed other marksmen do, though, so he obviously instead receives AD.

Jhin's AS buffs are translated to AD buffs from champions like Warwick. However, the same does not go for debuffs. Why is this? A Rioter passed it off as "unique", but I think it's just poor designing. It's pretty unfair and screws over those who decide to build the item to defend against enemies.

Hello CorgiParade,

I think I was that Rioter! I do want to clarify that the 'unique' comment was that he wouldn't lose attack speed since he was fixed. Saying that, it is a bug that we are looking into. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's a lever that we have left unchecked in case we can't think of a nerf strategy but it is something that we should tackle.

Thanks for the post and I apologize for misunderstand the post you are referring to.

It's a lever, it's intentional.

Here's the plan: if Jhin gets strong and people complain, Riot can implement this change as a nerf to placate people and make them say "Wow we asked about this since release and Riot finally listened!" when Riot knows it should have been there on release.

Then they don't actually have to think up a different nerf.

It screws you over if you build Frozen Heart to counter Jhin, but building Frozen Heart to counter Jhin in counter-intuitive anyway. Generally you want to build Frozen Heart against champions who want to autoattack quickly, like Vayne, Twitch, Kog'maw, Jax, etc. Unless you need the mana or cdr really badly, armor + health items are going to be a better defense against physical damage. On the other hand, if you have built Frozen Heart because you against something like Mid Jhin/Bot Kog, the passive does a ton of work against Kog'maw, but the armor is actually stronger against Jhin's more physical damage oriented kit.

How is it that you expect this to work? Attack speed debuffs affect total AS, under the expectation that their total AS is increased by bonus AS. Bonus AS interacts with base AS, except in the case of Jhin, where there is no such relationship. AS debuffs are therefore balanced against a stat that Jhin doesn't even have (total AS as a function of base and bonus AS). What kind of penalty would you want to apply to Jhin, and how would you calculate it?

Attack speed debuffs are meant to be protection against rapid attackers anyway. People who build an item to counter a champion it's not meant to counter are getting screwed? I wonder why...

Either ban jhin or take someone who can delete him. He is where he should be, if you dont get to the back line he will eat your team. But when you get to him he just melts

Jhin sucks, "walking" free kill.

If you know of the thread (considering you know the quote), then why are you reposting about the same topic instead of posting your opinion in the thread that you're referring to?
