As a long time player, I have done what many have done- created an account with my favorite champs specifically for ARAM. However, I've noticed over the course of the few years I've been playing on it that the free champions each week seem to show up far more frequently than the champions I own. Has anyone else experienced this? It's quite frustrating to get Braum four games in a row on his free week when you own 20+ champs that you actually enjoy...
You are possibly right about champions-of-the-week appearing more often than the other champions. However, if that is true (I do not know if it is, but it might be) that is not a problem. Why not, you may ask? Because like you describe, that system would hurt those accounts that have been specifically created for ARAM game mode more than the system hurts those accounts with more champions. Accounts created specifically for ARAM (generally called "ARAM only accounts") are frowned upon by the ARAM enthusiasts because they give unfair advantage to those who use them (ie: they are unsportsmanlike).
Even if such priority increase does not exist, it is more likely to get a free champion with small pool of owned champions. I really would not mind having some extra weight on free champions at all since it makes ARAM only accounts less powerful.
Theres about 10 champions free each week now? Assuming 20 in the champion pool and no repeats from the free week, thats a 1/3 chance to roll a free champ each time, so wouldnt be surprising.

I've been noticing this a lot more lately... does anyone know if they've changed the formula or IS THERE PUBLISHED formula ?
I have lots of champs, my GF does not. I've been playing for years off and on, she only a about 1 and most arams or weekend gametypes. We both get free champs about equally (aka, champs we don't want to play)
Very frustrating for her to RR a free champ only to get another free champ. She has so few owned why wouldn't it default to one of those?
