@Riot Purpose of Promotion Series?
So I've been in my series to promote to Gold 4 roughly 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Each time, I've had to try my hardest to carry into the series and with great success, yet when it comes to actually playing the series matches I've gotten DCs and players that seem to be having VERY bad games (This is consistent throughout all my promotion series).
While I understand that there's no way for Riot to be able to see the future and determine who's going to feed and stick them in my game (I hope), it got me wondering what the entire purpose of Promo Series are? Most players will grind from 0 LP to 100LP in roughly 5 straight wins, only to be offset by 2 losses that kicks them down. It doesn't make sense to me that you can statistically have over a 50% win rate, but not move divisions SOLELY because of 2 bad games.
Why can we not freely promote/demote divisions without having to go through a set of trial matches where anything bad could happen to the player? It'd both relieve stress and the frustration at being stuck at the ladder just because of two games.
Just like decaying and not holding your highest point on the ladder at end rewards etc.
