@Meddler Aatrox?

Aatrox has been at a very low play percentage and a below average- average winrate for awhile now. Do you think we will be seeing any buffs on Aatrox in the near future?

At this point, I'm starting to think that Riot has the obligation of keeping Aatrox barely viable.

Many diving fighters were hit pretty hard during the pre-season. And the last changes to item 3124 put a nail in the coffin for Jax too.

Now, Riot is trying to help the diving fighters with changes for item 3071 and soon item 3078 . But these items were never really good on Aatrox so he will not benefit as much from the changes. On the other hand, the nerf during pre-season to item 3153 hit him very hard. I'm still gonna try the new Trinity on him next patch (because it will simply be the best item for him because the rest will be crap) but it will not solve any of his problem.

On the other hand, Jax is getting some buffs on the PBE while Aatrox got nothing for a very long time (and no, QoL changes like being able to toggle his W while CC is not a "good" buff).

Last winter Meddler said that Aatrox was high on Rito's radar. Guess it is no longer the case.

Meddler said aatrox was in a good spot and he doesn't even gets picked at worlds. Hashinshin roasts meddler on his words like a true gentleman in one post.

I'd live to see one after the elemental drags removed his ability to include a drag in his first clear.

people literally ask him this question twice a day. and to paraphrase what he has said in the past. he said that hes under performing somewhat but they aren't looking to any changes in the near future.

I dont believe that truly fair as they help every other champion but him, even the champions they nerf they give small buffs to keep them playable. Look at what they said about Ekko and Zed on the PBE. Also if people ask him twice a day then dont you think people would really love to see their champion shown some love so he can atleast be playable and not have their team rage at them for not pick a teir 2 or above champion?

I know they said a rework but I heard its at the complete bottom of their rework list. I do think should atleast put some buffs on him until then because I dont wanna wait 2 1/2 years of nothing on Aatrox. They could easily buff his Q knock up like rek'sai or give his E better utility (slow AS) and he might be good then!

They've said he didn't fit quite what they wanted thematically but since he has modern art and visuals he's extremely low on the priority list.

I know Riot is planning a diving fighter update along with assassins and initiating tanks. They haven't announced which one will be next (though I'm guessing assassin since they said they've been planning that one longer >_>), but when they do diving fighters, he will be very likely on the top of the list for the 6 champs they focus on.
