Maybe I need a coach?

I have been playing since May if not March and want to get better but there are things i still dont understand like how to know what items to build based on my enemy, or the extent of my champs abilities and ruins. I guess i need a coach because im not getting anywhere with videos or guides. I just feel maybe i need to have someone watch me play and help me to improve. Any suggestions?

r/summonerschool has a lot of good resources (and coaching, altho I don't like self-promoting across forums)

I got to silver 2 my first season. I didnt really watch guides and that kind of stuff till maybe last season when I really wanted to hit gold.

Just give it time; youll learn the basics through osmosis sooner than you think😉
