JG FEEDBACK - XP ISSUES
Ok, so I just played WW on this patch and I know he's still fine compared to other jgs but it feels awful. Normally, I used to level 3 invade, pressure lanes etc. Now, the role feels skillless and boring. I'm so outclassed by lanes early that I can't even do much. I'm level 4 when lanes are 6 even when I've taken one scuttler and farmed the whole game on WW. Also, without early pressure leading to kills and less ambient gold, it's really hard to even get Tiamat for better farming.
I think the only reason some jgs are still above 50% winrate is that the whole role is awful but you still need a jg. Thus, some will be better or worse than the rest even if they are all garbage. It's truly shocking to me just how bad it feels and how weak it seems on a champion like WW. With WW, I used to be able to utilize the early game seriously but now even invading is very risky level 2 and since I'm so underlevelled, it also means I can't duel laners or do anything if I get caught. It's just pathetically bad. I feel all jg can do now is powerfarm if lanes don't overextend or you dion't pick level 2 jgs. You can't play jg with no map influence. You're just coinflipping then and not able to utilize your understanding of lane matchups or pathing so much.
Verdict: I'm just not playing the game anymore till they fix this role. It's massively underpowered compared to lanes and I think the non-powerfarm champs actually suffer the most. Yes, you can duel at scuttler and maybe take it over but you can't use your strong early as effectively. I used to be able to take over a game on some early champs but now lanes are just too strong. I think JG absolutely needs level 3 after 3 camps to utilize skill/understanding/game knowledge. If you remove that, why bother playing the role? That's critical for game influence. Even if you nerf something for jg at some other point, level 3 is just necessary or you feel totally handicapped to use your skill. Normally, you could 3 camp in VARIOUS routes thinking about where you wanted to be for a counter, who to focus on early etc. You could go top or mid or invade. Killing jg early game removes everything interesting and rewarding about the role. What are we then? Just farming simulators? PvE all game? No interaction? The whole idea of jg as a strategic role was exactly to have the most game knowledge and know where to be on the map, how to most effectively influence lanes etc. It feels like half the skill is stripped away. I guess if you play Kayn, Graves and some other ones maybe it's fine since you farm fast and hit level 7. It just seems like an awful change though because it's actually reducing the viability of many other jg champs and styles.
Graves is the only one that feels alright because he can just auto with red buff and clear forever. His ganks were already not the best so he's fine with just farming. Powerfarming is not exactly the highest skill intensive style though or as interesting/fun. I like it sometimes for counterjunglers but I don't think the meta should be so pushed in this direction.
However, these changes just seem to completely kill level 3 junglers and make jungle super lane dependent not only because of the scuttler but because of the ridiculous level disparity. Unless you're playing a farm jungler, it's just not even fun. It's so ridiculously weak. The mid who roamed half the game has 2 levels on me. If my laner lost, I am also so weak that I can't do much. I feel like it's out of my control and many laners can just 1v2 np now.
