More detail for ult blobs.

Yeah, not a catchy title. Anyway:

Would it be possible to make those little green blobs that let you know when an allies ult is or isn't available be more detailed? For instance, having them be grey and slowly filling as the ult gets closer to off cooldown, and then have it change to green when ready? I just feel that this is the sort of information that could be really useful to allies, that they can't reasonably be expected to know (how do I know if my top laner has ulted already? I can't watch their lane 24/7), and that, like jungle buffs, could easily be done with chat...but shouldn't have to be done with chat. I don't think this is the sort of thing that really differentiates good from great players...I dunno, I just think it would be a nice feature to have.

I also realize that it leads to the discussion of "Well, should we also have cooldown icons for ally summoners?" Dunno. But as we already have the "Yes or no" icon for ults, I don't think it's much of a stretch to have it changed so we can tell at a glance roughly how long until an ult is up. Just my opinion.

The Ult Ready Icons? I wished they filled up.

I'd rather just have a timer than a orb that gradually fills up. The numbers don't even need to be big.

With jungle timers I feel that there already is a lot of information to process as a player. Putting even more on top of that by replacing the blobs with numbers may be to much. I want to play and enjoy the game and not spend all my time looking at numbers.

This is a really good idea, would be helpful for setting up teamfights

While riot loves giving us aids in the game, they dont want EVERYTHING done for us, for example in bots you see the tower ranges but in normals you cant see them, jungle timers are only set IF you see the entire camp being killed, however if you see it is empty the timer wont start but the icon will appear on time.

While this seems like a good idea you do have communication with your team, ask your team if their ults are near cd, or your team mates need to communicate more and say hey "my ults up in 10".

Also on the other hand this could totally be an awful idea with people charging in when they see their team mates ults near completion expecting them to be able to ult in 2 or 3 seconds.

There are pros and cons. I just dont see riot implementing this as stated in the first paragraph

As a point of interest, while it would be neat to see the ult indicators gradually fill, most ults are on different cooldowns... So the metric of % cooldown left (which is what you get by the gradually filling orb) isn't entirely useful... It might be easier to notice and less of a burden to make the orb flash or somesuch when the ult has 15 or 10 more seconds on CD. That tells you if you can team fight soon, gives every ult a standard and useful metric, and means you don't have to try and judge percentages, guess cooldowns, or stare at numbers. Just my two cents. Whether Riot wants us to have this info is another discussion entirely - but the way I see it this is really solo queue stuff - if you're on a voip program you're probably communicating the important ult cooldowns that way.
