So Teemo and Karthus and permabanned in OFA...

Why isn't Zyra?

Now we all know why Teemo and Karthus are banned, right? Every two steps you hit a shroom, or even if you are an ADC, you MUST buy a Zhonya's to attempt to live from the Pentakill Karthus ult. And we can all easy say that is annoying and cancer to play against right?

Then we know about the annoying perma-snare comps. Champions such as Lux and Morgana are the biggest contributors to this. But these only are really good at catching single people out. So maybe you play Amumu. Then you can stun an entire team, while doing lots of damage, for ten seconds. That isn't including your Q snares. But then you are really squishy if you are doing any real damage, and you are right in the middle of the action.

Now lets talk about the star of the post, Zyra. With Zyra's new passive since the Mage Update, she has been on the really cancer side of OFA. Let's give a quick rundown of some math.

  • Zyra spawns a seed every 6.75 seconds at level 18. Keep in mind she sometimes spawns 2 seeds. I don't know the exact chance of spawning 2 seeds, so I am going to do this assuming it only spawns 1 each time.
  • 8 seeds maximum = 40 seeds for a team.
  • If all Zyra's are spawning seeds passively at the same time, they can hit their cap in 60 seconds.
  • Zyra can also spawn 2 seeds on demand, so therefor, it would only take 40 seconds.

So unless I am horrible at math, which is entirely possible, they would be statistically spawning a seed a second. Lets leave this here for a second, and look at abilities, mainly her E.

  • At Level 18 it has a 12 second cooldown with 0% CDR. At 40% CDR it is on a 7.2 second cooldown.
  • There is a root duration of 1.75 seconds.
  • Unlike Lux and Morgana, you snare everything you hit, so this could for example, hit their whole team.
  • So that means you can almost perma-snare someone, with only 4 people. With 5 you have a bit of breathing room to do it easily.

Now back to plant math!

  • With the amount of plants that spawn, it is highly likely you are going to have more than one plant in the area you are snaring. You can guarantee at least 10 plants using your W.
  • So lets assume that Level 18 near full build you have about 300 AP, is that good? Anyway, I am going to role with that.
  • You can spawn 10 Vine Lashers in your snares guaranteed, that means you can do 159 damage with each.
  • Multiply that by 10, and you can do 1590 damage.
  • With an attack speed of 0.8, that means it finishes at 1272 damage per second. Now factoring in the average base MR, it is more about 1000, but back at 1280 with the damage from the snare as well.
  • So that means you get about 2400 damage over the plant's life.
  • Now throw in the ult! Multiplying plant damage by 1.5 gets us to 3600 + 448 from the single ult itself.
  • So with 10 W's, 1 Ult, and 1 E, you can do about 4000. This isn't factoring in RNG.
  • We also get the extra bit of fun the Vine Lashers slow. Yay!

Back to snares!

  • Using our previous assumptions, we are getting about 280 damage per snare.
  • With 5 snares that is about 1300 damage. Using the previous example above, even more damage.
  • Since you can perma-snare a team, you can repeat this until they are dead, helped along by the RNG of seeds.

There is all that I've bothered to type up right now. Feel free to correct me on any of my probably incorrect math. And I do believe one of three things need to happen.

  1. Teemo and Karthus are un-permabanned
  2. Zyra gets some nerfs in OFA.
  3. Zyra joins Teemo and Karthus in the permaban. - I think this is the easiest and best option.

TL:DR I probably need math lessons, but I think I got my point across.

Dude, this requires the enemy team to be dumb in order to get perma-rooted. There are other OFA champions that can be abused to a far higher degree.

Tank Amumu goes in, AD Amumu goes in, then the other 3 AP Amumus finish it. Who said crying is for babies?
