I have been bad at him since release, but now I'm just trash. Is it because he's been nerfed a ton, or because he's too mechanically intensive? Am I just crap at the game? Do I need years of Starcraft experience to work on my micro to even be able to use him? This really sucks because I absolutely love his design and his kit, it's just virtually impossible to play him. Balancing this champ around LCS makes him not even a champion for anyone below plat
Nobody can answer that without seeing you do it, or even an explanation of how you suck.
You just need to focus on what you're doing wrong. Every time you die think of ways to get better.
Not using smartcast on your abilities/skills could be a factor on why you're not doing great at the champion. Smartcast helps Azir maneuver smoother.

Hes a hard champ to play and if your not mechanically skilled at the game you just won't be good with him.

Azir is currently the lowest winrate out of all champs, therefore hes trash
It took me about 100 games as Azir to get just a positive winrate with him. I've played maybe 800 total Azir games now and I do decently well. It's just getting use to the champion more than anything like with Kalista and Draven.
Playing a champion that doesnt fit your play style can be hard, if you really like being aggressive and poking alot, akali isnt for you. THats just one example, for me Azir is easy and fun, due to he fits my playstyle of all-in prodict my enemy's movements style.
