Lux is standing on raised terrain, which makes her looks like shes farther to the left than she really is, Sadly if she is throwing spells off raised terrain to lower terrain, the same visual confusion will happen Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJV95YTLMPA

To be fair... even on level terrain, Lux's hitboxes are SUUUUUPER generous.

Same with Sion Q. I love how the indicator doesn't show that the knockup is like a half a Teemo around the indicator.

It's the ultraviolet and infrared light, you can't see it...

It's more so a case of camera placement and visual confusion First clip she is standing on raised ground so the visual looks different but the hitbox is fine.

The same thing happens with Jhin W close to constantly.

This may have to do with the map and how the height decreased (similar to how in Youtube, people showcase Lux's ultimate not hitting a target despite its visual indicator). 2D gameplay/3D map sorts of thing.

In that location depicted in your video, the area declines noticeably in elevation and it will skew people's expectations just like with other abilities. ^.^ I think they have to change the map or something if they want to fix all the abilities like this.

Yeah, Lux's hitboxes are weird a lot of the time. I've even had the complete opposite happen to me - where I should have been hit by Lux's ultimate and I wasn't xD.

I've always had this visual gameplay problem and why sometimes my hooks look like they hit dead on but miss while some of my hooks clearly missed yet grab onto the enemy as thresh or blitz. I like that the game is sorta 3d ish but mainly 2d, but that 3d ish part makes it hard sometime to see with clarity hit boxes and hurt boxes. Sometimes I will auto attack a minion or monster and I am clicking dead onto it but my character stands still because since my camera is a bit below my champ then apparently I'm not clicking on it.

Terrain elevation screws up how some hitboxes are. Riot has tried to fix it in the past, but that brings other worse issues so they leave it as is. Just always remember that if enemies are on higher terrain shift the hitboxes the smallest bit right, or lower terrain shift it the smallest bit left.

What's worse is, if you dash behind her, you still get hit by the R somehow....

As a Lux main, I can comfirm Lux's Ult hitbox is highly flawed. Sometimes I am certain it will hit, but it doesn't and vice- versa.

Is there any gameplay reason for having terrain elevation at all? Seems like a purely atheistic thing to me, and a small one at that.

100% sure it didnt miss, because your champions invisible hitbox is circular and slightly larger than talyahs champion model itself.

she was also in a really weird pose with her body leaning heavily in the direction she was moving.

you have to imagine units in league of legends like tabletop figurines

that circular platform theyre standing on here? that would be their hitboxes in league of legends. now imagine these figurines moving into extreme poses, flying or heavily leaning forward like talyiah did in that video. youll understand why lux ult still hit.

I don't know, it seems like a hit to me.
