So ap Ekko...

Is he honestly made to be ap? I mean before the assassins building tank fiasco I had fun playing him ap, but at this point I'm looking at his ratios and seeing why people just built him tank. I mean he's an assassin that can only rely on two abilities and a passive to assassinate a target (even then his passive isn't something you can put faith in since say the enemy flashes or you get cc'd before you can proc it.) His w sounds like a tank ability honestly, it's really rewarding when you land it but often you can't kill a target with it. His ultimate also relies on his enemies being either in a position were the can't fight back (in which case it sounds like you didn't need ap Ekko since your wombo combo team comp is winning the game, Ekko's just winning it harder.) His w passive is an auto enhancer that's there because your full combo isn't killing the target and you need to brawl with them meaning they have a chance to escape. His ratios also don't seem that great either, I tried comparing him to Leblanc who's got more mobility and damage. Yeah Ekko's ultimate has a crazy good scaling but it's base damage is the same as Leblanc's mimic'd w and her ultimate's cooldown is less then half of Ekko's

In all honesty I'm not sure if it's just me having trouble with his ap build but I go RoA usually into a zhonyas or abysal followed by some order of rabadon's, lumens, and lichbane. I'm tempted to try rylai's but it's passive would be useless on Ekko's kit. Any tips would be great.

The recent patches hit all of his base damage and buffed his ratios so tanky isn't as strong.

Ap ekko is much more difficult to play than tank.

My take is that if you jungle ekko you should be on the tanky side while lane ekko should be AP.
