Veigar and Event Horizon

Due to LoL's current gameplay, I feel 3 seconds of zone control with Event Horizon is a lot for having an option to stun, especially early in the game.

I suggest one of two changes to Event Horizon.

  1. The duration of the walls scale with rank. So it would look like this: Rank 1/2/3/4/5. Stun Duration: 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds. Wall Duration: 1.75/2/2.25/2.50/2.75 seconds. Cool down: 14 seconds at all ranks -- down from 18/17/16/15/14.

Ultimately, it is a nerf. But the cool down is buffed to compensate for the lowered duration, which almost scales up to what it was at all ranks prior.

  1. Event Horizon no longer stuns a target, but instead, silences them whenever they pass through the walls. Passing through a wall more than once will result in the target being slowed by 20/25/30/35/40% for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.

Rank 1/2/3/4/5 Silence Duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. Wall duration: 3 seconds at all ranks. Cool down: 18 at all ranks -- up from 18/17/16/15/14.

Targets cannot be slowed or silenced more than once.*

This changes the interaction a lot more. It's not just a -avoid the walls so you don't get stunned and run around randomly in a small space- type of interaction. Running through walls still incurs a penalty, and punishes multiple attempts at running through the walls without having little counter play other than (don't get in range of his wall).

The cool down would stay at 18 to compensate for the double effect: silencing AND slowing. With 40% it still manages to stay at 10.8 seconds. The duration of the wall also stays at 3 for at all ranks to compensate for losing the stun.

edit: The fact that enemies can now be affected by the walls more than once means that Veigar gains more stacks the more enemies run thorugh the walls.

Either way, this would improve interaction between Veigar and other champs, allowing them to be mobile and have a little more counter play than a 3 second zone where you have to burn flash a majority of the time.

Thoughts?

It really wasn't a complaint. It was more of an example of how his E could change so it wasn't as difficult to deal with as it always had been. Changing the cast time from instant to delayed was a good start.

Veigar, Sleeper OP, End game, 1500 AP?

Really balanced >.>

So basically you want Veigar to be gutted?

Gutted would be a matter of destroying his damage. Touching his utility, which, lesbihonest, is pretty ridculous considering it's one ability that provides 3 seconds of zone control that can apply a stun, means that it's changing his interaction.

His damage is still high. His damage still stacks by hitting spells.

And considering you can be affected by multiple walls, you can actually gain more stacks with this new version.

Please.... Don't be so negative.

His E is very easy to dodge in my opinion, unlike before it was changed it was impossible to dodge, that is why the 3 seconds is fair. It may feel a bit OP against a team of highly immobile champions, but other than that it's very easy to dodge.

I'm not saying it's easy or hard to dodge. I'm stating that I don't believe it's a health interaction to land down a trap zone that will stun players when 1) placed perfectly or 2) zones them for the entire 3 seconds with a stun being the alternative.

I don't think this ability is health for the game in it's current state and suggested a change.

I respectfully disagree. As I have said before, while I feel Veigar DOES need rebalancing, taking power from his Stun is not the way to go.
