Seasonal Event Runes: Did Riot discontinued those Runes?

So I have been reading on League's mechanics but I found some interesting runes I have never seen on the client shop. The following are listed on Riot's Game Info

Discontinued? Became a novelty just like skins?

As someone who owns some of the holiday quintessences, yeah, they were a limited time deal. Basically they were just the same as the normal runes of their respective type, just under a different name and image.

Anyone that already has them is still able to use them. There's no way to acquire them now though.

Any thoughts on bringing them back?

They were a great way to get very cost effective Tier 3 runes. They generally gave similar values to current Tier 3 runes for half the cost. it'd be really nice to see them make a return.

Permanent 50% off the most useful T3 runes was what we chose to go with to help address that pain. Next step's likely to be looking at helping newer players out with rune costs while leveling, given the reduced XP needed to hit 30.

Remove the Tier 1 and Tier 2 runes, or either make them scale when you go leveling up, it is a pain and it is useless to have them on our accounts at level 30.

Also just to remmind you, you should revamp the item 2303 item 2302 item 2301 , it kinda feels lame now to have to choose between an item like or item 2045 - item 3401 just because of it's active; you should figure out a way to mix everything into one item (aka create new ward slots, and cause the stones to fill the stealth ward slot etc, we need a way to place a pink into the late game, lens do nothing against inv enemies, you can't AA an enemy that is being "revealed" by a lens).

Is there any chance you guys could take a look at lowering them some more, though? I mean, holy crap, flat CDR glyphs are 820 IP PER RUNE, with the quints being 2050.

Is making certain runes so expensive a form of balance?
