It really depends on the in-game situation and your champion.
Some options are:
You have two options... you need to translate your success in your lane to the other lanes such as the TF who was getting shitted on. If you win lane, push your shit out and rotate mid... People don't understand that a lot of the time, Roaming is NOT ABOUT getting kills but about presence. That's the FIRST way. If you look scary as hell just SHOWING yourself is enough to make the enemy jungler and mid laner back up and second guess themselves. That kind of pressure is INSANE. Running TP is another thing, if you win lane? Just watch the map and TP bot, or ask for deep wards etc...
Your second option revolves around teamfights. You can play passively or aggressively in lane right? The same goes for team work... If you act agressively and you MIA from your lane... you call your mid laner and bot lane to drag or you all go mid. You are essentially FORCING A FIGHT. This is an example of an easy play when you are ahead because in reality, (ESPECIALLY ON JAX) you can out duel and turn an ENTIRE fight by having just 3 kills. When that happens say you get some people low and they start running, don't just last hit for the fancy TRIPLE/ QUADRA KILL. Because in the end, a fed TF or a fed ADC will mow down enemies while you end up falling off late game.
It takes experience and the shot calling in your head to think "Ok, i have a lead. Let me pressure another lane, force a fight, and get the other lanes snowballing" Because you were lucky... Once one lane gets fed, say the whole enemy team ganks you and you die... shutdown. and they destroy you every time... who is going to help you? the ADC with a peashooter? The TF with styrofoam cards? Exactly, staying in your lane is a good way to lose your lead, unless your team is doing well, in which case you just splitpush and pray to god you don't die.
