is the Veteran's Scar mastery worth it?

the 50hp it gives at full points just seems so bad compared to the constant bonus runic armor offers to supplement any heals and regen for yourself. Is there something I'm missing?

ONLY if someone jumps on you level 1 and you escape with <50 health. That's about the only case. The rest of the time it would go unnoticed.

It only has an impact early game. Generally only worth taking on supports. Frequent trades and all-ins are high risk in the bot lane since vs. 2 champs + roaming enemy jg. First blood is also on the table and having a higher max HP in an all-in is advantageous. As you level and get items Veteran's Scars value drastically decreases. I only recommend on aggressive supports.
