How do I play Kindred (properly and well)?

I really, REALLY like Kindred but I just feel like she underperforms on nearly everything and has so many weak points easily abusable by current meta champions. She doesn't seem to gank well since her largest damage potential lies within her W area which if ganking, enemies' main goal is to get out of there ASAP, her mobility isn't extreme and her overall damage never seems to be that impactful, especially since she is also so fragile of a champion. Her R is a whole different story all in itself.

So how exactly do I play her and be impactful and effective? She just seems to underperform on every aspect. I mean Riot's taken away her sustain which I used to rely on in the jungle.

Or is she just not meta? :'(

You can play Kindred well by picking Hecarim.

This is the problem, basically. The new jungle is a complete wreck right now, and riot has actually acknowledged that kindred is in a very weak spot and will likely get buffs soon.

IIRC, they said 7.3 or 7.4 if the changes they do to the jungle don't fix her.

if your team is going to get a double kill in about 5 seconds but you're gonna get dunked right now, don't ult.

Her ult only lasts 4 seconds.

they will get a big heal and get saved, whereas you will still die

You wont die if you use your ult.

And if you were about to get dunked, and your enemy uses their "dunking" abilities on you while you can not die, they won't have them for when your ult drops off.

Your scenario precludes that your teammates WILL get a double kill.

Save your own life and get a 0 for 2 instead of a 1 for 2

Worth.

outplaying kindred ult is fairly simple:

get into the circle. once ult ends, use burst. kindred can not return favor because she has no burst that she can time well.

regardless, the biggest problem with kindred players is that they sometimes are too unwilling to themselves die or panic ult when they are about to get blipped.

and as a result their team loses fights.

so be more stingy, make sure to drop good ults, and be aware that your ult saves not only you but also the other team.

also that you don't have any burst, so ulting to outplay a champion that has burst only works if you respond to his burst with the ult.

I'm just refuting your suggestion of not using your ultimate to deny a burst ability being used on you "right now"

If you can prevent yourself from dying, and can see that your team otherwise has an advantage that should lead to a double kill, and using your ultimate would not prevent them from holding the advantage, .. do it.

Now maybe that is not the way you meant to describe the scenario, but that is what you said.

Now, if instead you had said

"if your team is going to get a double kill in about 2 seconds but you're gonna get dunked right now, don't ult."

That would make more sense

Hey I'm level 7 kindred and she's my fav champ but in the current meta, she's basically useless. even someone who is very mechanically skilled at her is easily overpowered by other junglers, adcs, mid and top laners (I've played her in all these lanes), she doesn't output damage until she gets up her marks, especially in the early game which when you really need the marks its nearly impossible to obtain them and to do well.

Kindred is supposed to be a counter jungler but she is way to weak to actually take down any other low-level jungler. Sure in norms you can come up against an unskilled jungler and maybe get a good start but she just can't keep up with the damage progression of other junglers.

It's really sad because i love her flexibility of playstyle and her old ability to counter jungle. Kindred
