My personal feedback about LeBlanc's rework

So i wanted to share some thoughts about LeBlanc's rework since i saw some surveys popping out recently. I come from the subreddit of the LeBlanc mains and i'd also like to share the general thought from there. First of all. The rework, ideally, is great, really interesting. The q is awesome for farming and the idea of the global clone is incredible. But the good things end here. The main problem with LeBlanc now is 1.5 seconds. 1.5 seconds are a lot, especially for LeBlanc. I know you want to keep LeBlanc's identity as a Deceiver and keep a safe window for the opponents to get out of her burst but with this restriction she has become a mage, not an assassin. Ryze shares a similar gameplay structure to the reworked LeBlanc and i'd like to highlight the fact that Ryze's Q and E are very similar to any LB skill (more particularly her Q for the waveclear kit interaction) and her passive respectively. Given this comparison, Ryze is better than LeBlanc at burtsing down enemies because he has no time lock on his E and he can rapidly repeat Q and E to nuke a target. While instead LeBlanc is much slower, she has to wait 1.5 seconds to burst and then 4/5 seconds to retry a burst rotation on the same target. Ryze is supposed to be a mage, while LeBlanc an assassin, but given the timings for burst action, Ryze is more assassin-ish than LeBlanc, leaving her in a less preferred pick than Ryze who can actually burst and deal nice aoe dmg with the E. Despite the fact that the new Q is awesome for farming, it is also very underwhelming when fighting. The Q itself doesn't motivate you to use it on your target like it used to be pre-rework as a dmg amplifier. Its aoe dmg purpose is very occasional. It is very uncommon to see a group of enemies staying stacked together there for 1.5 seconds leaving LeBlanc her chance to deal an aoe burst. On single target, her Q just feels like a simple target skill with just a bunch of dmg and it really feels unsatisfying. Like throwing Q at your target just because i didn't have it on cd and to add some dmg to my skill rotation. The idea of the shadow of the rose is really awesome. Really. But in game it falls off from being useful and reliable at the same time pretty quickly. The global clone is kinda clunky for how it works, especially when the clone casts a Q or a W. I'll make another comparison with Shaco this time. Her global clone is supposed to be more effective for splitpushing enemies and its purpose is to scare these lonely targets. The problem though is that her clone disappears too fast to actually create the doubt for the enemy about wether or not that is the real LeBlanc. When it casts q it disappears as soon as the orb starts its flying path, while with its W makes the clone disappear a bit before it reaches the target. The common feeling you get from all this isn't "OH MY GOD SHE IS COMING TO KI... holy crap i got a damn jumpscare" but more like "Where did she go???". The presence of her clone is too short to make it an actual fearsome deceive. It is actually more reliable when it casts its E where you can actually burn an enemy flash sometimes. All the things i said before were for the situation when you send her clone (for example) in top lane while you are bot lane. Now i'll consider the situation where you use your clone to gank a lane together which is related to an aspect of her mimic. I think shadow of the rose works better here because it creates the situation of shaco's ult and the deceiving thematic works pretty well in this scenario where until you get to hit/see the clone, you can't tell which one is the real one. Mimic's problem is that the clone that mirrors your spell is useless except for her E case where it lets you a larger window of outplay. But with the other skills, it almost looks like the clone is something for "istant" decoration (?). I mean, you can cast q or w (yes, it is worth to cast RQ because it actually deals the highest dmg among all the other skills) and her clone disappears too fast. Same problem of her shadow of the rose technically where the clone has a very poor interaction with enemies. Given my points of analysis, i'll sort out some personal suggestions. -Make LeBlanc much more bursty given the fact that Ryze outperforms LeBlanc as a mage while she has to be an assassin -Give a better clone interaction. For example, make shadow of the rose cast more than one spell and last a bit longer after it has attacked. -Mimic is the skill with the highest development pitential here. Give mimic clone the chance to live until it gets damaged (aoe abilities excluded) or like the pre-rework passive where it lasted for a fixed amount of time and let it mirror all your spells. Comparing to shaco, this won't ovverride his clone thematic where he is focused much more in dealing damage and chaos with the clone, while instead LeBlanc could perfectly give all in a smart deceiving. That's all. As the title says, this is a personal feedback, not an objective one and its purpose is to highlight some aspects of LeBlanc's rework that didn't satisfy me which many could share this thought. Thanks for reading.

LB was unique. Now she feels like karmas retarded little sister.

i plan to comment to offer counter points, however I'm on a phone. Simply commenting so I can easily find this post when I get to my laptop.

It's actually really good late, just wish the same target CD was lowered to 1 second late game. The 1.5 cook time window is playable by marking a target with Q then backing off for a bit.

The problem is , why should i pick leblanc over ryze where the last one can kill way faster than lb?

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Because ryze doesn't have the early game, roam power, waveclear, or fun that LB has.

He has a lot of roam power, think about his ult, early game isn't that great sure, wave clears are identical, and fun is relative
