Ryze's change
I don't like it.
It's tactical. The ultimate can get the team in or out of combat, unless he dies first. The new Flux offers longer control with Prison or more damage with Overload. The prison no longer increases lock time with each level up, you either get 1s without or 2s with flux, tenacity aside. Overload seems different, but it's pretty much unchanged. His passive is Vlad's, but with mana. Similar to Sona's play style, basic mode is you mashing QWE in every which way possible and you don't have an ultimate because you can't aim for shit. Otherwise it's a wear and tear type of micromanagement. (Flux>Overload>Flux>Prison>run back>Flux>Overload>Flux>etc; ultimate away if not winning) However, your range is still unchanged, as in short, so if you don't go in and hope can both aim and move like a pro, stick to team fights and mashfests.
The QWE trio indeed are built to work in synergy, but the ultimate feels detached. If you use it to start fights, you need to be tanky else you just dive to die. If you use it to run away, you still need to live long enough to make use of it. Also, it works just like flash, which means any targeted attack or ability already set on you still follows through, and that means that even if you survive long enough to activate the damn thing, you'll still be dead on arrival. Unsure if it cancels when silenced, haven't experienced it yet.
If you get used to it, it's easy to work with. You learn its limitations fast and unless you're up against a silence-stun-lock team, you'll do decent at worst. I still don't like it though...
