I'll just post what I posted back in the other thread.
I think Zyra should lose her current passive. It's not a good idea for a squishy champ to have to die to access part of their kit, Karthus exempt because he's literally built around dying.
Personally I think moving her W to her passive as something like
When Zyra hits an enemy with a spell she spawns a seed at their location, this effect can only occur once per spell and has a 8 second internal CD against minions and monsters.
Other than that the seeds would work the same, maybe with a small increase to invulnerability time since they can now only be placed underfoot.
Which frees up her W for a new spell, I'd go with something like
Zyra lashes forward with her wrist vine (seriously she never uses those things) dealing a small amount of magic damage and crippling them for a short duration. If this spell hits a seed it spawns a wall of thorns which deals persistent damage to units on it.
And numbers, which are always way off because no way of testing
W spell
Range: 500
Damage: 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 + 40% AP
Mana Cost: 50
Cripple Duration: 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9/2
W Plant
Damage identical to Q and E plants (advantage of AOE over range and CC), ticks 1 time per second, 2 times when ulted. (plants attack 0.8 times per sec, slightly higher DPS for it's 0 range) Takes damage priority over Q and E plants and reduces their damage as normal. Has 6 HP as with all plants.
Basically gives her better peel strengthening the 'peel mage' archetype that Riot talked about liking for Zyra recently. Keeps support Zyra viable while encouraging mid Zyra as a counterpick to guys like Yas and Zed. And introduces a type of CC that League needs given the current state of powercreep.
I'm also not sure where this would fall in terms of power, it's probably broke as fuck, but I think it would be a far better place to start balancing Zyra from.
