0-10 Placements on New Account and Gets Silver??

Friend of mine did his first season of ranked and went 0-10 and got placed in silver. It's a fresh account. How?? Rito hello?

Provisionals are dumb.
You are almost always placed Silver first season. Next season you are almost guaranteed to be 1 division lower, so he will be bronze unless he actually climbs.
his duo for all 10 games it seems...also lost all 10 placement games...and is bronze 2 now.
