WHY IS ASHE's secondary role support?

Like the title says why is Ashe's secondary role support? I understand that her ult and q bring utility (slow/stun) but because of that I've had so many games where a support picks Ashe because they say she can support? That make's no sense, all they do is feed.

She's a utility ADC. Sustained CC in her passive, pokes in both her Q and W that also provide CC, E is a global scouting ability, and R is probably one of the best CC engages in the game, and is usually bound to have a low cooldown later on.

I've seen Ashe support work, particularly in Duos. Playing safely is the #1 priority due to the fact that it's basically a dual ADC bot lane until the mid game where one's, let's say Ashe, damage falls off due to building support-y items (hopefully). Will you see it in pro play and in higher levels? Probably not.

As a support main, I've been eyeing the Ashe support...I'm just never sure on how I would go about building her as a support so I don't play Ashe support because of that....

Because she's an utility carry.

The roles aren't necessarily "play this position," but rather a guideline on what the champion fulfills in the team. Ashe is pretty decent if the other three members of your team (the support almost always has utility) lacks a good amount of cc. Her ult, for one, is decent for engage/disengage.

Her kit in general is pretty support. Her slows, her ult, and even her scouting capabilities are really neato for her team. She's definitely one of the more selfless carries when it comes to team composition.

CC? What is that? My utility has no signs of CC Soraka

I can't tell if you're being serious.

Soraka's Q applies a slow and her E is a root

Also, cc is not the only form of utility. Healing allies and silencing enemies are also very strong forms of utility. Not to mention the utility she gains from healing herself and movement speed toward low health allies.

First, not all utility is cc. It's usually buffs and debuffs, both of which Soraka coincidentally has.

Soraka is most famous, in the cc department, for her silence/root combo. A good Soraka player is going to piss off an assassin/fighter with that more than the healing. Just ask any Riven main.

"My UTILITY has no signs of CC" obviously I was agreeing that soraka brings a lot of utility to the table, just not hard CC. You really gotta read carefully before starting to lecture people.

And?

I don't really get the point of your original comment then. Regardless, Ashe and Soraka do make a great duo lane in general because of their complimentary kits. Hell, Ashe makes up for Soraka's lack of hard cc!

Her passive is crowd control (Her Q is not very useful for a support role as it is a self targeted attack speed and damage buff. ) Her W is more is crowd control poke Her E is a global range vision utility Her R is a global range crowd control engage.

So, basically, ... her crowd control and global utility makes her suitable as a support. Will you see her professionally played as a support, ... probably not.

ashe is more of a duo/situational support, you have to understand your partner and agree that one of you is going to end up as the support, it might not be ashe but in that case you have two adc's until about mid game when one of you will fall off, that said you need to also choose who will poke and who will farm, as one of you should harass the enemy champions while the other farms
