Twitch, The Forgotten Rat
For a a decent amount of time now, I've watched over a couple of ADCs winrates, like the rise of Kalista (went from 44% to 49% in a week then to 45% after nerfs and back to the steady rise to 48%), Urgot (Went from 40 to 44% and tends to remain around 44%, but may rise after the buffs from 5.2. Right now, he might be rising for a variety of reasons, including his usual boom and bust cycle of winrate), Tristana (Hovered slightly under 50% for a long time until she was nerfed, which went to about 47-49%, but then the change made her go down to her current 45.4% area). Of these ADCs, each were given either compensation buffs or nerfs in order to help them reach a greater state of balance in the past few patches.
Now, let's take a look at Twitch. Twitch has absolutely no mobility abilities(Unlike Kalista whom he's commonly compared to due to the stacking mechanic), is considered a hyper carry champion (Like Vayne, Kog'maw, and in some cases, Jinx), has stealth (No other ADC has a stealth that can last as long as his, but the only other ADC with stealth is Vayne during her ultimate), has an AOE ultimate that amplifies all of his basic attacks (No other ADC has this), has a poison mechanic that does DoT based on number of stacks, has a very respectable amount of attack speed bonuses, and can do well as a make-shift assassin. Alright, now let's get to what I believe to be the most major problems with Twitch right now that are really holding him back, and actually below almost every other ADC champion in terms of winrate (he actually is the lowest for an ADC and has been for a long time, but usually him, Urgot, and Tristana remain close in winrate). To me, and probably a very large number of other people, Twitch feels rather unreliable. The reasoning for this is that his Q (the stealth), ranges from 1.5 seconds to 6 seconds in which Twitch will stealth is just a bit too long. If Twitch gets caught, he's very likely to die within the first second against a good team. Now, let's go to Riot's thought process on this: Twitch was able to escape a massive amount in the past because of his stealth, which made alot of players feel helpless when fighting him, because if worst comes worse occurred, he'd just stealth away. Further rationale behind their choice to raise his stealth's timer before becoming invisible was that Rengar's ultimate's invisibility was raised to 3 seconds if taking damage. Now, I can see this as a good thing to do for Rengar, however, when we go back to Twitch, we must consider that Twitch is a massively squishy champion that will tend to build very little if any defensive items. On the other hand, Rengar is likely to both build at least one piece of defense, as well as use his roar to gain bonus defensive stats. Now, let's head back to other parts that are holding Twitch back massively. Right now, Twitch's ultimate has a massive cooldown of 120/110/100 seconds, which he HAS to use in late game teamfights in order to both survive and deal a respectable amount of AOE damage. For a late game hyper carry champion that is extremely reliant on his ultimate, you would really expect it to at least be off cooldown a bit more often late game. As for another thing that's truly holding Twitch back from being somewhat more reliable, I'm not quite sure. What I do know, however, is that it's not his damage. Twitch has plenty of that if you were to ask me, however, he's just too unreliable to be able to output it.
TL;DR I believe that Twitch could use some help in order to become a bit more reliable. (Remember Gnar? He was made to be unreliable, however, he actually has a decent bit of reliability with proper management of both his rage and positioning)
