I wouldn't recomend Azir right now. He's hard, he's trash, and he's getting a rework
Azir is really fucking hard. He'll only be rewarding if you want to put a ton of time in him, like 130 games minimum and you have to try and actively improve in each.
VK is fairly basic as a mage. Good poke, fine waveclear, shorter range, but true damage.
Ornn next week
Vekkers is the best option of the two. Azir is very difficult to learn (takes about 200+ games) and riot is exploring options for a mid sized rework on him. Assuming you want to go mid, Malz or TF are better options right now. Maybe Anivia if you want a more control mage option or Katarina if you want to be able to hard carry after 100 games.
