I have an amazing idea to completely turn minion based game play on its head

Ok, check this out, this is a really good idea.

So, you know how like, farming is super hard cuz minions always taking your minions kills. Well thats pretty stupid because like, the minions don't get gold for that, so why are they always taking your farm?? Check this. So for every minion killed by your minions, all the gold goes into..i dunno..like a bucket. Okay? Now. The team captain can use that bucket gold to upgrade the team's minions and structures. This is pretty cool, because even if someone who missed a farm every now and then like myself, can still contribute to the team victory. Anyway, this is a really good idea and I'd appreciate positive feedback only. Thank you very much!

Better idea: this lost gold is instead fed into Baron Nashor and the gold bounty is equal to a proportion of this pot split evenly with your team. To make it less snowbally, it would be both teams' lsot gold instead of a single team's for the other's.

I know you're probably joking, but I'll bite anyways:

People would exploit this by buying Ancient Coin or Spellthief's Edge so that they wouldn't have to farm, resulting in a team death-match because everyone is ignoring the minion wave unless it's to push it. Then late-game, when their minions are much more powerful, they will push by themselves and it's still a team death-match.

Or the rewards for minion upgrades aren't worth it and nothing changes because no one person will be able to dictate the use of the "minion pot".

It's more realistic a suggestion that missed CS will be given as 1 gold to Dragon, and then when it's killed, every member on the team gets that same amount of gold. A minor mechanic that's worth more to behind teams than ahead teams and will also push for dragon as an objective.

BTW, who's the artist for that?

Interesting notion, but I think it would fit better into a new MOBA built around the idea rather than trying to fit it into League.

This idea could work, but it relies on poor skill, and rewards poor cs. New players wouldn't want to cs because they would get confused on which is better. If you do this, then eventually just not being in lane would be the best strategy, all going into one lane could become the dominant strategy. If I was super far ahead, I can just freeze the lane at my tower, let my minions kill them all, then we gain this advantage from not doing anything with the resources currently in the game.

The Baron Nashor idea that Menea Calais suggested might be a better version of what this is. This is just too unreliable to keep balanced. (and would probably stretch games out more- the exact opposite of what Riot is trying to do) P.S. Love the Future Diary picture*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

Hmmm... do we get kawaii anime minions as well? ^_^

it's a strange mechanic:/ You're essentially rewarding players for missing cs?

I think the part with upgrading minions and towers is fine. Towers are made out of paper now days, allowing players to upgrade them could fix this problem.

However, encouraging people to miss CS is not a good idea.

Reminds me of an RTS mixed with a MOBA O-o like Supernova...

I like the "giving to Baron" idea more though tbh

Like, oh my god...like, No?

Stackable rewards upon Dragon and Baron would be more suited. For TT, heh...you already know where that pot's going.

However...the more I think about it...people will spend a lot of time in the jungle then rushing a lane in hopes of an easy kill...and then all rushing the dragon or RH...or BN...which ever is spawned.

supports should have the choices, and it should be gold matched with the support gold income. making supports feel more like a tactical choice, rather than a babysitter.

how about for each minion missed 1 gold is added to barons pot and then that shit happens or maybe drag gives the pot at each teams 3rd 4th and 5th dragons (to prevent early leads from getting huge at drag 1 and 2)

Perhaps it'd work best if it was it's own game mode; but I'd still try it either way. Farming minions is the biggest reason why I can't stand playing ranged physical carries.
