It makes a ghostly double of the champ it's used on. Is that not enough?
No Yorick buffs pls I dont want to have to deal with him in lane again
I'm just looking forward to a rework. In fact, that said, bordering on hijacking your thread here, perhaps a little rework idea of my own (as I play him a lot):
Give his ghouls AoE effects that hit the team when they are close to the ghouls, this reinforces his gameplay nature of being in the middle of it with his ghouls, or his supportive nature of what his Ult currently does. Make his Ult actually give his passive buff to all those near his Ult ghoul, this makes the Ultimate feel like an ultimate and gives him synergy in more teams as a kind of Maokai like playstyle.
Q would get an AoE speed boost 1/2 of the effect he gets to nearby players W stays as it is. E heals others nearby ghoul by 1/2 amount Yorick would gain (also make this a skill shot with longer range than it currently has) R AoE his passive in addition to the "revive" (perhaps reduce the revive duration by 2 seconds for the gain of it's AoE power?)
In trade, because nothing comes for free and this sounds like just all buffs at this poing, Increase his cooldown by roughly 20% to allow for better counterplay, this seems plenty fair as currently as soon as one ghoul drops I can just burst them all up again basically maintaining 15% increased damage and damage reduction at all time. This also balances his lane presence which is a bit overwhelming against many matchups while strengthening other slightly. None of these proposed changes or rework really make him much different at all but the skill cap is raised slightly with the skill shot, since landing the skill shot is important to his sustain while at the same time making it a bit more versatile. These changes open up his playstyle and strengths quite a bit allowing him to jungle or support much more effectively.
Each of these proposed changes come at a very large cost, the cooldowns make the usage of each ability much more critical, and so wasting one hurts much more than it currently does. Every decision while playing is based around a second here or there and they add up fast when you are playing a champion like Yorick. This also encourages build diversity as you have more lanes you can play him in effectively, currently he's restricted to top lane only and this feels weak.
These are my thoughts and how I could see them affecting the game state, teams now want to bring a Yorick for more than just a wall in the top lane, he would actually contribute more to the team. His ghouls would actually serve a purpose outside of being annoying in teamfights, now they could help engage, chase, heal, or even AoE Steroid the team by up to 20% (but I suspect with the longer cooldowns it's more likely to be roughly 10 to 15% max most the time).
Does anyone think a cooldown nerf in trade for all the buffs would be balanaced? Is it enough? I'm just thinking about timing here, so I'm trying to feel if maybe it should be higher or lower cooldown nerf actually. . . 20% adds like 1 to 2 seconds on each cast, puts his ult on a longer CD, and makes his laning slightly weaker for a trade in being able to bush check more effectively, after laning it adds presence in team fights without making him too strong because everything takes longer to come off cooldown.
Hope a red reads and considers a slight rework.
