2 questions about health shields

  1. Do shields take true damage or is Armor/MR taken into consideration? For example, if I have 100 armor as Nautilus and get an 800 damage blocking shield and a caitlyn with 200 AD auto attacks me, will the shield take 100 or 200 damage?

  2. Does the health shield from Courage of the Colossus take damage BEFORE other shields like Nautilus' W?

Despite playing LoL for so long I never found out.

Armor and MR are definitely taken into account. I don't know in what order shields will take damage.

On the topic of shield stacking, I think it's either the bigger shield takes damage first or they are combined.

Whenever I combine CoTC with Sion's W, I usually don't get my W popped because of the Courage shield taking the brunt first.

Shields are effectively adding temporary HP to the champion.

True damage does not take into account armor/MR, so the shield will take the full true damage. All other attacks do, so the shield will take the damage with armor/MR mitigation considered.

I believe, but could be wrong, that the damage is taken "from" the shortest duration shield first when considering how long shields should last. But all shields stack into one big shield (ignoring specific physical damage/magic damage shields).

Shields stack and are used up "last in, first out".
