Duo Mid and Other Things That Shouldn't Work

My friend and I were doing some shenanigans and we somehow ended up in a game with two mid (us - he as Gragas and myself as Xerath), two top (Nami and Irelia) and one bottom (Ashe) and we won. Not to mention our team was totally on board with this strategy (God bless dat Ashe). And of course the other team had a normal line-up.

What kinds of crazy experiments have you guys done that worked out well?

Prior to the Malzahar rework, I'd go bot with him and have my friends go duo top lane, something like Malphite and Soraka. Because I'd rush tear and catalyst, I'd just spam my abilities and clear the wave before botlane could attack tower; meanwhile top was getting dumpstered 2v1, because poke lane vs melee is toxic. Eventually started having games where people would exert the brain power to switch lanes and put an end to the 2v1 ranged madness.
