From being a Sion main, playing Garen is soo brain dead. OMG the skill level of Garen is so amazing! Now I know, why people love low skill high reward champions (maokai mains)! I can be half asleep and still carry with Garen.
I also know why garen mains are never toxic. It's because they are never stressed out. Like if his team is doing bad, he just build tri force and he 1 vs 9. I'm so lazy I don't want to play Sion, I'll play Garen every game!

woodvsmurph1 votesAs a toplane main... sion is harder than garen as far as solo queue is concerned. This is especially true anywhere away from the bookends of solo queue (low bronze, master+). Not harder to play... but harder to impact the game/carry.
Doge20204 votesIdk if you are trying to trigger people who main Garen or if this is your actual opinions, because I can tell you that even though a champ has a simple kit, their are a ton of strengths and weaknesses that you need to know and take into account for. With Garen you can’t really go full glass cannon rn because he is a full melee champ with no dashes for gapclosers and kiting or just oneshotting a full glass cannon(all damage items and no defensive items for those that don’t know) Garen.
I can tell you for sure that you can’t 1v5 a fed team. Garen has a super simple kit yes, but he also has a bunch of macro play that you have to think of to be successful. If you are kinda new to the game you can just go full out and spam abilities, but if you really want to be good with the game you gotta learn how to macro correct with the champ. And Garen is great for learning macro because his simple kit lets you focus more on the game and not on your champ’s combos. One example of macro would be like when there are 3-4 people on the other side of the map from me I can push this side lane and attack x turret because there is only one (or two) person(s) that can come and defend in a fast time. Or learning how to kite on a ranged champ like adcs.
woodvsmurph1 votesI think much of this was sarcasm meant to illustrate the point of garen being a very strong champ right now with minimal skill required and to point out how much carry potential he has with minimal effort. Every champ takes skill, but not every one takes an equal skill to play to the same level. Garen is one of the simplest out there - much like sion; however garen has much greater carry potential than sion which can leave sion players feeling like garen is too rewarding for "no effort" (not actual no effort but sarcastic no effort).
I've played plenty of both and against both. I can tell you it is much harder to punish a garen than a sion top for most players. And garen's kit is simply designed to be both offensive and defensive - even with his build - while sion's is mostly built and designed for defense. Thus garen has more playmaking potential/ability to carry even if both are executed equally well in a match. I personally feel that garen's base stats/base ability dmg is a bit high in some areas, but he's not unbeatable. He just is more forgiving than many other toplaners while still having potential to kill your opponent throughout the game.

The Spiko1 votesgarens kit is easy no doubt about it , but if you think thats enough to make him op and win you games , then GL with this . his simplisity is his biggest problem my friend , thats make him super easy to counter , there is 10000 way to make a garen useless in a game , just the presence of some champs in the game is enough to delete garen frome the game ( like anivia who make him most useless champ in team fight ) also if you think that garen is op in lane then again you are massivly wrong , if you are sion main you should have enough experience to understand that your champ cant out trade garen and chill and farm , if you dont fight him he will never kill you , or you can just poke him making him half hp and go to a dive gank with your jungler , but allone you cant as sion . its true that garen in lane is strong vs most f meles champs ( fiora and darius games are 50-50 ) . But tell me pleas vs champs like gnar , quinn , ryze , teemo , yorick etc what garen can do ? the max you can do vs them is soustain and not feed , and pray that your team will carry you . people do mistakes then cry this champ is op . like today i played vs an aatrox he was bullying me , then he tried a dive , i killed him he was like ; garen op ; comoon maan any champ can easy play vs garen even those who garens counter they can easy play vs him if they know that they shouldnt trade with him .
Baron Barian1 votesThe simplicity of Garen makes it so your main focus is on the macro game. To be good at Garen, you have to be good at the very fundamentals of the game itself. In turn though, beating Garen requires you to do the same. You will generally always know who would win a trade as or against Garen because of the simplicity and predictability of his kit.
This does make it hard for a Garen to be toxic since he has a less complex set of abilities that are really hard to mess up. So yes, they are less stressed, but for different reasons.
You do still need to play well to win even as Garen though. 3 of the 4 games you just played as Garen, our scores are....kind of average really, with near equal amounts of kills and deaths. Would even argue that you got carried in some of them.
Ranmiaku1 votesI personally fucking despise garen and garen players, the champ literally has zero skill requirements and he can just fucking assassinate any squishy with 1 damage item into full tank, not even slightly balanced, his kit is overloaded, and you cant punish him in lane because he just has to sit back for a few seconds and heal back up, riot need to give this piece of shit champ some skill requirements/mana costs/ and hard fucking nerfs
