"Hard Mode Achieved" in Ascension?

I just finished a game of Ascension and right as the game ended I got the message "Hard Mode Achieved" in the same font and area of the screen that other status effects appear (like "Slowed" etc.) and I have no idea what it means. Nothing else appeared different either in game or afterward.

Does anyone know what this relates to?

Probably means that you won the game without other team getting a single Ascension. There's even an icon for doing that.
