[Support] How to improve

Hello there,

We all know that support is sometimes very boring role to play , mostly because it offer less gold it requires some items and it offer less fun in global. That is why I have some suggestions.

  1. Make some items to be purchasable only by support. For example "Alteration oracle". Reason? Support will be far more important person in game in my opinion. Once when laning phase ends team will actually need you to clear wards before any engage, not all persons will be able to clear wards that fast and yet there will be still option for other to buy Control wards for some kind of clearing.

  2. Introduce new mastery tree

While we do have some kind of support masteries I feel masteries for support should be different and more specific. For example, you wouldnt be able to put mastery points in support tree unless you started with that tree and then other mastery trees would be locked.

Masteries would be for example: Better healing, better shields, better armor but no dmg. Also there should be mastery: If you buy sightstone you should be rewarded with 50% or 100% more HP or for each cleared ward 50, 70 more golds. It would be usefull you know!

  1. More gold

There could be Spell for support only. That spell could offer movement speed, attack speed to your ALLY. But passive effect of this spell could be that assists are rewarded like kills and vice versa . I.e. Who has that support spell, for each assist he would get 300 golds and for each kill he would get 150 golds.

Just 2 my cents.

It is nice that RIOT decided to offer us more supports to play but it wont change anything untill gameplay of supporting is not changed to be much more intresting.

You got good ideas, but it doesn't guarantee the efficiency of your system, in normal games for example :

  • A Blitzcrank will lock midlane and buy AP support items to get more gold with less farm, and buy Alteration Oracle to deny every enemy vision, and that would be an huge advantage vs the enemy midlaner. -Will the items/masteries become available on exotic support picks (Jarvan IV, Singed, etc...) ?

Greetings there,

Let me explain: You would need to have Support masteries to be able to unlock Support Spell ( somethng like smite for Jungler) and when you have that spell you would get these items to buy (same as hunter machette).

Blitz of course could take all these support talents but in my opinion he would lose more than he would get. Why?

Because talents would be for example:

If you are near ally champion you gain 5% dmg else you lose 5% dmg. If you are near ally you gain % mana regeneration else it is reduced for %.

So basically, who pick these support masteriess, he would need to be NEAR some ally ALL the time in order to get these bonus. Being alone would only hurt him. Same applies for J4 but I am not sure what should he do as support when I believe that masteries should be focused on regeneration, bonus healing,shield and not anything about dmg.
