Best anti-assassin mid laners?

Hi, I have a champ pool for every role apart from mid and adc.

So far for mid i use Kassadin against mages, but I want to know who is best against assasins like Zed , Yasuo and fizz etc...

Galio - against AP Malzahar - in general Morgana Annie - to hypermobile champions since she has a point-and-click and large AoE Zilean Kayle Lux Cho'Gath Lissandra Mordekaiser Ryze (somewhat) Karma (sorta)

Top laners with some off builds can have some respectable damage and can be brought mid under certain circumstances while remaining hard to burst

some champions have good lockdown to prevent all the hippity hoppity all around you so you can hit em

Urgot is one of the better Zed counters actually. Swain used to be a hard counter to Yasuo when played decently, not sure if he still is though. Ryze is an old-school Fizz counter, due to the point-and-click root. Having Seraph's as a core item also helps.

pick bruisers into assassins, if you want to shut them down and pressure them in lane to the point they cant roam without losing turrets.

Lissandra.

Her Q is good harass, her W stops them if they try to go in to burst you or trade, your E allows you to escape if things go south, and your ult, regardless if it's cast on you or the assassin, if the ultimate "screw you assassins" ability.

All that being said, she doesn't do well against Kassadin though.

Sion & Yorick are my go to midlaners for hard trolling assassins

simply too beefy to get bursted and with tons of lane pushing power

good damage too when building full tank as well as good roams or alternative optiosn to do stuff when lane opponent is missing

with Yorick as soon as my opponent is trolled out of lane im taking drake, plenty of games where i solo took 4+ drakes which made everyone else snowball too

with Sion they can't leave i push too hard and am too beefy to kill, usually bullying them to base by out sustaining and out trading as well same for Yorick

Sion has the advantage of being ''first to roam'' you can't roam out on him, you see often assassin walk into river and sit in a bush and try to kill you if you follow, that or they get to your other lane first and the damage is done.

But with Sion you can follow easy, even if they are almost there, you can ult after them and get there first if you want too, if they fall back you just gank anyway if they try to stop you, they can't unless body block and then you kill them. nothing really they can do about it.

You simply lock them in a lane, by waveclearing, where they cannot possibly kill you because too tanky and too much sustain. and if they are leaving lane you can either hinder them or get more out of your roam anyway.

Ive had many assassins, but also some mages go full tilt on me raging in all chat what a bastard i am for playing a tank in the midlane.

And its true its a fucking dickmove and i love it

Ryze used to be good but without the ult he just kinda negates the assassin, he doesn't kill them. Kayle also outscales them but has a harder time pre 6.

any top laner is traditionally good against any assassin and if the enemy team locks in first you can reliably counterpick them with the bulk of top lane. #galio is an effective choice against zed talon and yasuo pending runes, masteries and build the secret is to just avoid them and focus wave clear (which galio has tons of) and wait for them to come to you under tower.

galios W will negate so much of their burst damage while also healing you up. just dont waste your mana and you're golden. they press R? THANK YOU FOR CLOSING THE GAP FOR ME, galio presses R, oh look 50% damage reduction from your ult and i just disrupted your combo. gone, done, your dead.

might sound stupid, but Cassiopeia Miasma can counter a lot of champions, since it nullified mobility based spells, such as

Ahri Akali Ekko Diana Fizz Kassadin Katarina

To list a few. These champions all have some kind of movement related spell or close-in gaps, and therefore can nullify it, making them less of a threat. it's not so much a HARD counter, but just enough to make them have a bit of a hard time
