Why I think Yasuo Deserves to be Permabanned

Since I've been seeing Yasuo mains around who genuinely thinks that the only reason he's banned is because of a meme..

Yasuo is fucking toxic to play against. I think it's safe to say that he has the most overloaded kit out of any champion ever made. His abilities have no costs, which means he doesn't have anything to manage but cooldowns.. which is a huge joke because his Q is on a 4 second cooldown and his E practically has none giving him infinite mobility as long as there are minions around (which is where most fights will happen in lane, unless you let yourself get zoned)

He has a passive that gives him double crit AND a shield on top of it like it wasn't enough. His wind wall is really of a lesser concern to me.. I do think it makes him unique but it just seems too much to be able to negate any CC for a few seconds on top of his already overloaded kit. His ult really puts the icing on the cake, which can be activated through most crowd controls, including minimal displacements that shouldn't even count imo. A few that come to mind are:

  • Vayne's Condemn (E)
  • Hecarim's Devastating Charge (E)
  • Thresh's Flay (E)
  • Jayce's Thundering Blow (E)
  • Quinn's Vault (E)

The fact that he can activate his ult through the smallest displacements instead of just knockups is pretty fucking scary considering how well he can synergize with almost any champion. To make matters worse, he becomes immune to CC during his ult so you're just a sitting duck while you watch your teammates get merked. You can completely roflstomp him in lane but when he manages to get enough gold for his first two items his potential to fight multiple people at once skyrockets. So yeah, he well deserves to be permabanned.. not because of a fucking meme, but because he is the literal personification of cancer itself that I'd rather not have to deal with.

I understand that any champion could look overloaded by listing all their strengths but... Honestly, I can't even think of anyone that has as many strengths as Yasuo. They keep making these new champions complicated that offers multiple things from one skill which makes the older champions seem obsolete. He is supposed to be a high-risk/high-reward late game champion similar to Vayne but goddamn, he excels at multiple things with very little drawbacks

"anyone I disagree with is a Yasuo main"

Yasuo is fucking toxic to play against.

that's your opinion. You can't just say that and treat it as a fact.

I think it's safe to say that he has the most overloaded kit out of any champion ever made.

wrong. It's up for debate but it's far, far from "safe to say" LeeSin Ekko AzirGalio are all good contenders for "most overloaded"

His abilities have no costs, which means he doesn't have anything to manage but cooldowns

unlike other champions, who have to manage mana Riven Kled Shyvana Tryndamere Zac wait...

He has a passive that gives him double crit AND a shield on top of it like it wasn't enough.

Crit at a penalty yes. The shield is there because melee carries like Fiora Tryndamere MasterYi all have stuff in their kit to allow them to build heavily offensive while still be able to survive.

negate any CC for a few seconds

that's if you are dumb enough to throw more than one spell at him.

His ult really puts the icing on the cake, which can be activated through most crowd controls

here let me fix this for you

His ult really puts the icing on the cake, which can be activated through literally only knock ups or displacements coded as knock ups

.

including minimal displacements that shouldn't even count imo

I'm glad you recognize that it's your opinion this time.

Most of the displacement abilities you list will rarely ever be used by a yasuo effectively because the window of opportunity for him to ult is incredibly tiny.

To make matters worse, he becomes immune to CC during his ult so you're just a sitting duck while you watch your teammates get merked

he's immune to CC not damage. It would be pretty fucking stupid if you could cancel his ult with CC. I've killed many Yasuo's by just attacking him while he attacks one of my allies. It's not hard.

You can completely roflstomp him in lane but when he manages to get enough gold for his first two items his potential to fight multiple people at once skyrockets.

i have never fucking seen this happen once. I have requested videos many times, but I have never gotten an answer. Stop fucking saying that he can get shit on in lane and go 1v3. S T O P S A Y I N G T H I S

Honestly, I can't even think of anyone that has as many strengths as Yasuo.

i can. Azir Poppy Thresh Galio

you're making a ton of assertions here and not really backing most of them up. IF he was as OP as you claimed, why isn't he played in LCS? Why isn't he permabanned in high elo? Why can't you just pull up statistics that easily prove he is crushing in games?

Yasuo isn't that hard of a champion to play against honestly. There are many more methods of dealing with him now than there was a long time ago. you can ruin his late game lifesteal with executioners calling, hurt his attack speed and crit damage with randuins. The hardest thing to do when playing against a yasuo is predicting where his E will take him after he uses it in a minion wave. Once you are able to predict that then yasuo lanes become really easy. I encourage you to learn this

OP, I think you should phrase this a little differently. The "he has all this" argument is unconvincing. Even though this comment section is a total shitshow thanks to the first half of your post, the other half of your thread is completely reasonable.

Honestly, his issues stem from his ability to deny enemy agency. His kit synergizes with itself to incredible degrees not seen on most champions, and he is the first champion ever to possess a double passive. Those are very hard to balance on their own, let alone with him having numerous features that normally take up a lot of power budget such as high mobility, utility and scaling.

His laning phase absolutely needs to be hit. His E ability lets him engage whenever he feels like it, and even worse the game not only promotes this but also holds his hand to do so by giving him a shield that comes up periodically. He's a total asshole to trade and he does it at every moment he can in brutal fashion. I don't think this is good gameplay for a champion that scales.

The only time I can think of Yasuo being OP is when he was viable top lane. Back when he was able to abuse getting tank stats while still dishing out insane amounts of damage.

The only thing I dislike about OP is that he/she fails to acknowledge/present Yasuo's weaknesses. OP only states Yasuo's strengths. If anyone were to just state any champ's strengths, I am pretty sure it would be relatively easy to manipulate players into believing that the said champion is OP.

I understand why many players dislike Yasuo. Yasuo is a champion that--when ahead--is really strong. But I believe that applies to many champions that get ahead early. For example: GangPlank Twitch Vayne Tryndamere etc. *note: The champions mentioned are late-game carries (tryndamere is debatable) Late-game carries that get fed early... Hmmmm  emoji

Anyway, players make Yasuo seem way over the top, when--in reality--he's not even great. I never had a problem playing/laning against a Yasuo, which is why I don't understand where the complaints come from.

I think the complaints come from the average players who feeds Yasuo and the typical "My yasuo sucks, enemy yasuo carries."

From all the posts I have seen about people complaining about Yasuo, all the players play a really and I mean really shitty match up into it.

Yasuo is bullshit because he is incredibly unfun to play against. You as a player have little agency against him except via certain counterpicks. His mobility, damage, and overall overloaded kit means that you don't really outplay him as much as he fucks up and outplays himself. His windwall comes out of his model and his hitbox, meaning he can use it reactively as he gets hit with CC to completely negate it, which is bullshit. He reaches late game with 2 items and spikes super hard off of PD which is overtuned as it is.

Fuck Yasuo, he's permabanned for good fucking reason.

they just need to buff bruisers, yasuo's natural counter, and he will become more manageable
