And it has always been shitty and abusable.
And it just gets more and more abusable and well shittier.
Can you provide me with some substantial evidence that proves it's abusable?
"Shitty" sounds like a subjective opinion, though.
You can't tell me that a game, that has a matchmaker that makes teams of 5 random players to play against each other in teams of 5, is supposed to be played completely isolated and treated as a 1v1 environment, much like Heartstone and Starcraft.
There's already this popular opinion that one single bad player can lose you the game.
If we're going with that premise, i can't get ELO boosted/ELO boost someone to higher ELOs from duo queueing because someone's going to drag someone down. If i know i have great synergy with a certain duo partner and i like playing with them, i'd rather remove one random teammate from the equation and substitute them with someone i think it's better suited for the job.
If this is going to give me greater chances of victory (by introducing a more skillful and a more cooperative player into the mix), i should absolutely have that right. And that right is fortunately for us, limited to only 1 person. I'll say it again - League was never a 1v1 environment. Don't treat it as a game that is supposed to cater to solo diehards when League was never that kind of a game from the very start.
I understand this option not being available for the top percentile of players (Master/Challenger) but forcing this arbitrary rule from Bronze to Challenger is sending the wrong message on how you shouldn't ever rely on your teammate for anything. That it was always you VS everyone.
