Hard stuck in gold 5 :(

Hey guys the highest rank ive ever held is gold 4 and ive been moving up and down from 5 to 4 all season. Not sure whats the problem but I can't seem to influence the game enough. Mechanically im falling behind, and I can't seem to use my lead correctly when ahead or something... how do you guys improve when you are hard stuck like this?

by trying really hard and playing as safe as I can, perfecting the basics even more, and finding a couple champions to dedicate myself to playing.
