Backround: been on a losing streak for a time and just now starting to climb again. Hopefully i can make gold by this time next month. I think my mentaliy of "bad teamamtes" and "elo hell" was holding me back but now im climbing well and i belive it's more due to my mindset than my gameplay.

Before you dismiss this as another silver give me a chance. Not a rant, not new info, just obersvations of a grinding silver. I fell this can apply to everyone of all skill levels. This is my counterpoint to "elo hell" that everyone talks about. It seems solo queue ranked is broken up into a few cases. And if you can consistantly win your lane you should win at least 62.5 of your games and climb.

I have come to the conclusion that 25% of games you have good teammates who win lane and know thier champs. 25% you will have mediocre teammates that go even or have a slow start maybe 1 lane lost hard. 25% you will have bad teammates, in the sense that they lose thier lanes and are simply outclassed by enemy laners. The last 25% are a toss up either team could have an equal chance of getting an afk, feeder, DC, bad ping players etc.

Your job as a laner in solo queue is to win your lane and use your advantage to get a lead. Although not every game is winable you can climb if you conetrate on your specific job and get yourself ahead. No, you cannot win every ranked game you play but f you cant win your lane than you not climbing is directly linked to your gameplay.

Elo hell doesn't exist but bad players need an excuse

I'm a support player. What do I do then? Sometimes my ability to even win my lane is outside of my control. I usually play Tahm Kench in ranked because I can save my allies and I have enough CC to do some things, plus the global presence is great in soloQ, but I can't be everywhere at once and my W has a cooldown.

As a follow up, 25 games later after applying this mindset and "maining" one champ Illaoi I have achieved a 63% win rate and climbed 2 divisions (s5 to s3) https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=captianHindsight. i.e. I can support with this evidence that if you're playing at your ranked level and winning your lane consistently you will win 62.5% of your games. I'll update again and if it stays true at 50 games and I can confirm my theory (and hopefully I'll be a gold by then :D )
