Idea for In-Match Economy and Buying Items

Hey guys! So, I was thinking (a dangerous pastime, I know) upon the way items are bought per match and upon the interaction between teammates in the game. For understanding of my idea, please consider the following situation:

Suppose, playing Darius in the top lane, you manage to rack up a large amount of gold. You last-hit minions like a pro, destroy your rival's outer turret, and even manage to get a few kills on your opponent in lane. You have a significant advantage over your opponent at this point; however, your fellow teammate Draven Draven in the bottom lane is struggling. He is getting zoned by the enemy's CC, doesn't last hit as well as the opponent ADC, and is subject to numerous ganks by a roaming jungler and mid-laner.

So you have a large gold surplus and your ADC is falling behind in income. There should be a way for teammates to assist an economically-struggling teammate. This is why I would like to propose a system that allows a teammate to buy an item in the shop and give it to another teammate. Through this "gifting" method, Darius can buy an item (say, item 1038), give it to Draven, and help him get back on his feet and feel useful in the late-game teamfights.

I understand that there will likely be several issues and drawbacks to this mechanic in-game, but I would be happy to listen to feedback from fellow summoners. So please respond kindly, and if you like this idea, please upvote it so there might be a better chance of seeing it in-game. Thanks!

"Hey Soraka, stop buying anything except gold income and wards, and buy me some more potions and AD while you're at it"

I think the idea has some potential. One thing for certain, it will definitely make the game more entertaining as the fights won't go as loop-sided as much.

The main concern with this concept is that a team may try to snow ball their assassin or ADC by giving them a full build before even 15 minutes.

A rather simple restrain could be that a person is only allowed to receive an item once every X minutes. Of course, the receiver should also be able to decline the offer from the donor.

Another benefit to this mechanics is that it will improve Riot's infamously notorious match making system. With this system, when a player below 30 gets matched up with 2 enemy diamonds because there is a duo in his or her team, the player just might stand a chance through the duo gifting him items.
