What IS the "meta" Teemo Build?

I've been dabbling in the dark arts of Teemoing. So far I've only been playing on-hit AP Teemo (Liandrys > Pen Boots > Nashors > Runaans > Void Staff > Raba) and it works great, I get to 2 shot ADCs and chunk people for half their HP with just a single shroom. However, whenever I see other people play Teemo they seem to go ADC. I've searched this and can't find a good answer.

So I dare ask, what does the devil buy? On hit AP or ADC

It's:

#Wait until Season 8 when the new Runes come out and fuck around until you find something OP

Teemo is trash right now, all you're able to do is play On-Hit Tank and hope the enemy is retarded enough to think you're worth their time instead of focusing on snowballing the map.

I miss the old Nashor's Tooth + Malady item set he used to play with. Full attack speed build made him terrifying before the items were overhauled in season 3-4.

Teemo honestly isn't that bad. I've seen him play plenty of times. I prefer AP Teemo myself since his poison scales off AP, and my build path is largely the same: Liandry's > Sorc Shoes > Nashor's Tooth -- everything after that is situational. Some games I go Gunblade, Zhonya's on others. It really depends.

A good Teemo builds according to the game because he can use almost every item. He can even build tanky because his baseline DPS with E is good. You have to take advantage of his extreme versatility and use it to adapt to the situation. It's a huge waste of his potential to lock yourself into the same build every game.

But personally I think the one item I'll always buy on him every game is Gunblade. The sustain and the on-demand slow are both excellent, and it gives him a decent amount of damage output too. It fits into pretty much any type of build you might need for that particular game too.
