Ashe's strengths are:

  • Her kit is easy to learn
  • She has a slow on every damage spell, which makes kiting easier
  • Her ult is a strong engage tool

But she surely is not the strongest ADC out there. On-hit ADCs like Kog'Maw and Ezreal and lategame hypercarries like Twitch and Tristana outperform her. Still: If you want to practice ADC, Ashe is a good choice. She is definitely viable, and easy to adapt.

She's not a soloq ADC. I cant really think of too many ashe mains in upper elos tbh. Really good with teams that are insync, and even if shes behind her ult provides a lot of pick potential for your team

I think she's pretty strong in her own way. Definitely not a hyper dps marksman but she has utility that's pretty good on the offense. I think Ashe does more damage than everyone might think, especially when she's on Q, but she's very dependant on positioning and team protection. Currently I think she's one of the more balanced marksman and an interesting one at that.

In this current Meta Ashe isn't ideal, however i do enjoy Ashe as well and find her as an enjoyable pick! Couple things to make a note of with Ashe when you play her.

READ HER PASSIVE her passive includes details about how Ashe Cannot critically strike, but instead is critting 100% of the time after the first Hit for less than 200% (a normal crit is 200% damage unless you buy IE it is 250%) Crit Chance since you already crit 100% of the time is changed from "Crit Chance" to "Crit Damage Cap extension" which means, when you build Crit Chance you will instead of getting and RNG based stat you will get RAW DPS. So early on this may sound weird but a Zeal will give you more DPS than a BF sword. It doesn't give you the upfront smack of the extra AD on each Auto, but in terms of taking down an OBJ or an extended trade, Zeal will give you more DPS than BF sword. (Also Ashe's Q is an Attack Damage + Attack speed Steroid. You can get away trading with Q popped in a situation when you have a Zeal and they have a BF so you don't need to rush AD on her unless you need the help last hitting)

Some solid Item builds include item 3508 item 3031 item 3085 item 3153 item 3033 item 3675 This is a very cookie cutter build for standard situation, however due to Ashes lack of mobility you may have to consider other items like item 3139 item 3026 item 3156 item 3072

When laning with Ashe there are a few approaches you can take. A team fight Ashe built around getting her Ult off CD and using the Ult to force fights as frequently as possible. This is the Ashe that will be Rushing Essance Reaver. This Item gives CDR based on the amount of Crit obtained from other items, so since ashe is an ADC who gets DPS from Crit instead of RNG this item is actually pretty cool for her and helps her get to 40% cdr fast!

Your First Item can Also be IE if you are snowballing hard and smashing a lane. you can skip the ER and go straight to IE in order to dominate a lane 2v2 or 1v1 but it is a slower power spike and I would not recommend this unless you have gotten 1-2 kills in lane and are denying them farm.

The hurricane is Core for Ashe and should always be obtained second on any build. If you read Ashe's Passive, all of her AA's slow any target they hit, Hurricane Applies on hit effects, and can also even crit... Ashe will be AoE applies slow and Critting multiple targets at once with this Item... I strongly recommend Hurricane second item.

Life steal / sustain is where things can get interesting... Ashe Can use Blade of the Ruined King even though currently its a pretty bad item. The way her Q works is it is multiple Rapid succession Auto attacks while the skill is active... this means for Items that give an On hit effect... her Q will proc it multiple times per animation making it very powerful. The activate from Bortk is also nice considering you have 0 mobility on Ashe. Blood Thirster is also a great item... and will actually be a better choice vs assassins like Zed or Talon. So in short vs an average comp with some Tanks and a front line go for Blade, but vs a Carry comp with damage threats all over go for the BT.

LW is a must have for every ADC and you can pick either depending on what you need.

Boots are pretty interesting on Ashe you have multiple options... item 3158 for CDR and More ults... my personal pref if i dont need def stats item 3006 good pick for the bot lane match up, but late game prob the least useful boot option. item 3047 Great vs Talon, Zed, Yasuo, Draven. Consider this if you are behind or the enemy team shows a Fuck-the-Ashe comp item 3111 Pretty average, Most times you don't make use of the tenacity, I only get these when I buy a MaW and I'm vs like a Syndra or someone who presses R and kills me and I need to pass a "Stat" check to survive.

Hopefully my info on Ashe helps you make your decision overall I enjoy this ADC and would recommend her to you if you can play a patient ADC play style.

P.S. don't be afraid to build items like MaW or GA early if you get ahead... you are non mobile ADC people will try to fuck you especially if you get ahead. Building damage is cool, but if you start to snowball and itemize defensively with like Life steal or an early MaW, you become that much harder to kill and you let your levels and base damages carry you. Building full damage doesn't help if you die right away... and non mobile ADC's tend to get focused!

Ashe is easy to be useful on, but hard to carry with. She brings the most utility of any carry but also the lowest average damage. I have 850k mastery, so if you have any other questions I can probably help.
