HELP! I’m a terrible lux main

Dead1nsideLoL·2/11/2018, 12:37:33 AM·7 votes·1,798 views

Ok so, I’m still pretty new to league, been playing for like 2 and a half months. I really like skillshot mages or, whatever you call them, champions that shoot pew pews. I’m thinking of buying lissandra because she can do some pew pews and she has ice powers or something. I don’t know who to main. Help.

Accurate 10/10

Imo start with easy champions if you're new to League, it's a very complicated game. Go easy on yourself and play Annie for a few games, you'll learn the fundamentals of mages (CS, positioning due to her low range, I'd give you a longer list but the last time I played mage as my main class was uh, 2 years ago.)

Xerath : DID YOU SAY SKILLSHOT?

Whatever you do, DON'T PLAY Zoe . She's just a bad champion overall, you know. Riot's been "diligent" at work and she's been nerfed "hard".

Lux is one of the most straightforward mages. Morgana does some similar things, so maybe try her too?

Watch some Lux streamers like KayPeaLOL on Twitch and watch what they do (and especially what items they build) - it's a great way to get a better idea what you should be trying to do.

Honestly, just play around. don't try and main something right off the bat. Ahri Taliyah Velkoz Ziggs all generally sling skillshots if you are just looking for magey skillshots

Lissandra has a completely different playstyle and is harder than Lux imo. She can be very good in the right hands and she'll also get buffs around patch 8.6 (and maybe a new passive).

If you like playing Lux you should try Morgana or Xerath (farming is a lot easier).

would jhin be a good choice? he has cool skill shots too.

I'll also probably try ahri.

Liss is in a bad spot now, and she's a bit more complicated to play. I say wait to play her for now and go for Morg and Annie. Morg is similar to Lux, and Annie has more point and click but shorter range so you get a bit of all kinds of mages here and different playstyles to learn. Have fun! I'm a Lux main myself :)

So what you like is spammy(rapid casting) burst mages, well. Lux is more about combo's and set up, champs that like to spam spells include: Ryze Xerath Zoe (yes, I have to include that bitch) Velkoz Anivia and Swain

Lux is a good champion if you are new since everything is a skillshot that goes straight. Don`t play Lissandra. if you want to know how it is to play Lissandra in league play a DOTA 2 champ and spam your abilities. Lissandra will be out of mana faster then the Dota 2 champ

NekoniClaws2/11/2018, 3:35:42 PM1 votes

Play ARAM and sample all the free week champs- I guarantee you will fall in love with more of them <3

First ur not a lux main.. Ur a person that likes lux. Cuz u cant be terrible on something you "main" lol

Ceol2/11/2018, 3:51:52 PM1 votes

I think you should continue pursuing Lux as she's a great mage to learn with in mid. Lux is all about her positioning. If you position well, you'll warp teamfights in your favour and never die. Position poorly (on such a squishy champion), and you'll die whilst being ineffective.

Positioning well in fights allows you to double snare priority targets with Q, zone a major portion of the fight with your AoE E and gain full effects of your W on teammates. Hitting skillshots is inherently tied to how you position within fights. If the enemy can only approach you or your team from one angle successfully, then your job is 100x easier.

Do note that her waveclear is quite poor for a mid mage, so learning to CS with her and prep waves can be difficult at first.

Lissandra isn’t really that good right now. If you like champions with lots of skill shots and consistent win rates, playVelkoz

you looking for tips on playing lux or tips on who to play?

Katarinint2/11/2018, 6:43:25 PM1 votes

You like skillshot mages? Let me introduce you to my friend, the King of Poke, the Master of Range, the Lord of Skillshots, Xerath.

Netorare2/12/2018, 3:22:12 AM1 votes

You cant be bad with Lux but i suggest you to try AurelionSol Azir Karthus Swain Syndra Velkoz Xerath Ziggs Zoe they are the only champions that require most of your brain to play them to their full potential and they are also FUN.[slayer-jinx-catface]

TheProfezzor2/11/2018, 12:46:59 AM1 votes

Lissandra is in a weak spot right now and is a bit different than Lux as she is going INTO the fight with her e vs poking like Lux. If you like poke try Xerath. he is really good right now.

Ahir Ahri or Orianna Orianna or Morgana Morgana or Brand Brand , or Veigar Veigar , or Zoe Zoe, just to name a few

stone the blacks2/11/2018, 1:14:13 AM1 votes

I think you want true mages and not assassin mages Anivia AurelionSol Azir Brand Cassiopeia Heimerdinger Karthus Lissandra Lux Malzahar Orianna Ryze Swain Syndra Taliyah Veigar Velkoz Viktor Xerath Zilean Zyra
