3 Main Champions

  1. I frequently play Heimerdinger on PvP Normal Blind Pick (Summoner's Rift). Almost always our team wins when I play with Heimy. But playing Ahri on PvP Normal Blind Pick, most team compositions seems to hate her. I can manage to defend a lane with whether with a partner or none. But almost always my team mates leaves me and goes to some other lane. I can manage to hit one of the two enemy champion, in a 1v2, until 1 enemy has a thin red line on that champion's HP bar. The other champ has half HP bar. But I either ran out of mana, so no one to do the finishing blow since I am alone, or gets killed by the other one. In all instances, those two enemy champs could be killed by my partner, if I had anyone with me and push the lane. So is Ahri hated that much on PvP?

  2. I am thinking of getting a tank for the one of the three champions that I will focus on. I set the Seals for Armor, Marks for Armor Penetration, Glyphs for Ability Power, and the Quints for Ability Power. Is Amumu or Malphite a better tank? Both are AP that fits perfectly on my incomplete rune pages. Both base stats are pretty much the same to me with Malphite just slight better armor. Opinions from veteran players or anyone regarding Amumu vs Malphite?

  3. Back to Ahri, I am thinking of playing with her as one of the three champs that I should focus on. Another that I am considering is Kennen/Rumble, but I have to save up to get either champs. Ziggs was also an option but I did not like much playing with him. Lulu was also an option but she seems to be played alot and I am avoiding one of those instances where all three champs that I play frequently are taken. So I am trying to get those that are less played.

1). Nobody hates Ahri, in high elo she is a very contested pick. 2). Hiemer has a high win rate regardless of team comp. 2B) If you are playing Ahri or Hiemer in a 1V2 OR 2V2 lane you're doing it all wrong. (Most likely pre-30 matches) 3.) Lulu is played a lot but there will hardly ever be a game where Ahri, hiemer, and lulu are all picked.(mostly because they all do different things for a team, vastly different)

  1. Amumu is a jungler, so you don't wanna be in lane with him, Malphite is mainly a top laner but can also play jungler, just by that logic , Malphite would be the better pick up. Although you should buy all the 450 champions as they are all mechanically easy and cheap.
  1. Don't worry about buying champs sounds like you need better rune pages. Your rune pages are shit.

Yes. My runes are bad right now. I'm only Lv21, so it is a low level play. Hence, I am saving up IP. Thanks.

So for a tank Malphite. The runes are Seals armor, Marks magic pen, Glyph cooldown reduction, and Quints AP. Or just full armor rune page?

cdr glyphs are a more situational thing and leave you vulnerable to magic based attacks. I would get magic resist glyphs instead because you can use them and armour seals on almost any champion and not go wrong. They are more like one size fits all runes.

The other runes look fine, although a top lane main might have better advice for those.

Nvm.

Though about 5), it costs over 70k IP to get good runes.

I can relate to your experience. Some champions are much easier to play at first (pantheon, heimer, master yi, etc.). Especially heimer since a lot of the work is done for you by his turrets. You will learn as you play more. I remember when I first learned about getting killing hits on minions and how it gave gold. It blew my mind.

Malphite is probably better for you at this point because amumu is more of a jungler (jungling doesn't happen at low levels because people die easy without runes/masteries). Of course you can use both champions in multiple roles, but malphite is usually seen in lanes. Mundo might also be a good choice since he doesn't use mana.

Ahri is probably not the best for a new player, but if you do pick her I would watch some videos/guides that explain how to play her. An easier mid champion for a new player would be Malzahar.

I'll play Malphite in Co-op vs AI before jumping to PvP with Malphite.

I'll try Malzahar. Thanks. Since majority of the champions I own right now are AP based, there would not be much of a problem on setting up runes-Seals health, Mark magic pen, Glyph cooldown reduction, and Quint AP.

I just need to save IP for runes.

Hybrid pen is better than straight magic pen. but thats just my own opinion.

I think I have a hybrid pen rune but it is pretty much useless right now as it requires the champion to be level 18. I bought it thinking it has no champion level requirement. That is, if I understand the description of the rune correctly.

There are no champion level requirements, there are scaling runes in which they reach their max effectiveness at lv 18, but are still effective throughout the game. Hybrid pen runes gives you 8 armor pen and 5.5 magic pen at lv 1....that to me is pretty much good on any champion that deals magic damage and uses autos, which is any champion with a ap scaling.

Ahri fits just fine in most team comps, You want to take her mid ideally but top is also an option as she is a relatively safe champion and quite good at kiting. Along with Oriana she is one of the most consistent mid laners in the game, there hasn't really been a time where she wasn't a decent pick.

Honestly I climbed to gold 4 with 2 basic rune pages and only 16 champions ( my second try hard account) but my first I saved up all my ip for runes and have quite a few rune pages and runes.

basically for malphite I run, hybrid pen marks, scaling health seals, AP quints(alternatively you can run armor quints for more tankyness or you can run movement speed for better ganks) glyphs I would run 10% scaling cdr with 9 scaling MR . or just flat 10% cdr.

I would chose Malph.

Reason You can top effecitve and tank or you can Sup and tank effecitve. I love amumu though if you have a good rune setup for him. I only jungle with him. But he can turn team fights into gold for you.
