So, I don't really understand this.

MSI 2017: Group Stage Day 4

At 5 hours 55 minutes and i think 5 seconds? Where Bang fires the arrow way behind Hauntzer, but it still lands. It's quite far behind, and should have technically missed. I know the game was over by then, so its a moot point, and Hauntzer had the full right to pause, but I see this occur quite often in game where the ability misses quite a bit. It could simply be my understanding of hitboxes, and missile size, but I think this case is exaggerated.

I'm not sure what your question is, but the arrow hit Kennen because he walked into it.

It's just stupid hit-boxes my friend, Nothing in league is based on the actual character model, Another thing is, There's no airborne mechanic in league, If you jump with Kha'Zix E, You still get hit by projectiles like Ashe ULT.

IT'S ALL HIT-BOXES

its a pay to win skin because the arrow's hitbox is larger than the visual

Upvoting for views of this.. to me that seems too broken seeing as how if I did that in game, it would register as a wide miss.

Because aerial projectiles.

And 3d vs 2d shenanigans

here is a picture of the arrow position and where he was when the arrow struck him. Seems like a miss, but I think its a visual thing that needs to be fixed to make the arrow head wider. Be curious if some one could recreate it with a different skin could be just that skin only.

I gonna assume this is what the hit box is that is not visually represented. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj531/MindlessBuckets/triable_zpsdxxyqheq.jpg

I wouldn't know much about this really, but in theory: The ashe arrow could be a rectangle, and kennen actually run into the side of it as the head of the arrow had already passed?

again, IDK, but thats what would make sense to me.

I* didnt even looked because obviously there HAD TO BE fucking LEE WIN IN THERE

woodvsmurph5/14/2017, 2:22:10 PM2 votes

kennen was very clearly heading back towards his tower. The hit box on ashe ult is pretty huge. Hauntzer just got hit by the very edge of the box. The animation for where kennen actually was may have even lagged a bit vs where the game actually considered him to be. Ex consider jayce "spaghetti code" where if you start a dash or jump at him and he knocks you back it acts as though you completed the jump/dash while knocking you back to where you started it from. Or how thresh flay can interrupt trist jump but only at a certain point during the jump - too soon or too late and jump still completes. This is because trist's model does not match her actual location at every point and because of other coding stuff.

Global ults have larger hitboxes due to them being global just look at draven ult, it has a huge hitbox

RacoonHunter5/14/2017, 7:13:56 AM1 votes

It's not just global ults too.. the hit boxes on most pulls do not match the animation or the indicator when you cast it. There's been several times I've thrown a thresh hook well outside it's range, only for it to land on my target that was about a mile farther.

it's something, like intentional feeding, that riot needs to look more into.

Sasogwa5/14/2017, 5:21:20 AM1 votes

He kinda came back into it. From my ingame experience of the hitbox of ashe arrow, it doesn't surprise me. But it might still look bullshit and need a nerf idk.

kjono15/14/2017, 3:42:27 AM1 votes

The only ways i could understand that happening is either the edge of each just hitting, although it seemed wide for that; a problem with the visuals of the arrow (possibly with the skin) in which i doesn't line up exactly with the missile trajectory; or some weird spaghetti code bug.

idontgiveabother5/14/2017, 4:34:42 PM1 votes

It would be nice if hitboxes were actual animations/models instead of invisible circles or whatever they use. Then again my hopes for hit boxes being fixed are probably the same as lee sin being kicked out of the meta. Existent but won't ever happen.

Looks pretty jankey to me, but then again, I've landed Naut hooks where the person is literally behind a turret and missed ones where they are standing on the rope of it mid-flight, so I don't even know dude.
