So..

I had previously assumed that it took 3 losses in a row to go down from IV to V and I to II, however, for the third time this season. on a two loss streak, one at 15 lp to bring me to 0 and then a loss after that I have been demoted.

The simple question I have is that is my assumption wrong or am i missing some facts?

Its pretty MMR based I believe. and I think this is how it works: If you lose a game at 0 LP and your MMR says you should be in that league then you stay there but your MMR drops. If you lose a game and your MMR says you are too low for that league you get demoted. The exception is when you first get promoted I think since you need to be on kind of a hot streak anyways to get promoted

To put it quite simply, LP doesn't dictate demotions. That's more of an MMR thing, which for whatever reason is invisible without a third party site.

So you're missing some facts, but they're unfindable unless you already know what you're looking for.

LP gains/losses are altered to sort of guide you into the league that reflects your MMR, so I assume that you just got promoted to a league that was a couple divisions above where you "should be" based on MMR. That is a really fast demotion though, faster than Ive heard of until now. Im sorry though, thats frustrating and a bit unfair to demote you so soon after promotion.
