This Game Needs More Lane Flexibility(Think Dota 2)

Riot has already taken some good ideas from Dota 2, like the 10 bans idea(no, that wasn't their brilliant creation).

Instead of the old 1-1-2-jungle, dota 2 all of these options in public play:

1-1-3 3-1-1 1-1-2-jungle 2-1-1-jungle 1-1-2-roam 2-1-1-roam 1-2-2 2-2-1 1-1-1-jungle-roam(very greedy)

I never played Dota but.

  1. the map is huge as hell
  2. they have no recall but have a system to still get items
  3. turrets and minions a lot weaker
  4. if you kill somone you litterally steal there gold and I'm pretty sure champions snowball harder as well.
  5. can kill your own creeps and deny enemies so having two or more people in differnt lanes can work a lot better.

then a lot of stuff makes sense 3/1/1 you get one of your guys in the 3 lane a kill then your prob screwed because that would steal your gold and now you have no way to stop them from just pushing to end the game.

Whereas LoL

  1. small map so roaming is easy and 5 man bot lane can happen several times in lane phase with tp.
  2. summoner spells also help survive and make ganks.
  3. more manna for waveclear and stronger turrets to keep people from just grouping as 5 and taking all the turrets the instant they get a lead.

from my view it seems that LoL is more objectively focused and more focused on teamwork and playing together as a whole map using differnt tactics to get different objectives.

whereas Dota seems to be more focused on individual players where one guy can carry a lot easier and it's more focused on denying the enemy and starving them as much as it takes to getting a lead which is why manna is denied and spells do so much damage because if the spells did little damage and all champions had more manna then the game would snowball even harder because the instant someone gets a kill and you lose gold from dieing there spells now do a lot of damage while also costing little manna and now they can kill you even easier.

Dota seems less focused on individual objectives so in replacement of working together as a team the way LoL where Dota working together means making a good teamcomp so that you can deny the enemy and snowball with a lead or potentially get denied less to comeback and they also focus a lot more on itembuilds because the lack of manna and summoner spells and more laning options from the huge map and denying play style allows for more builds I think.

Though I do think it is possible for LoL to have more complicated builds even with all champs having a lot of manna by way of item locking certain items to specific roles and champions. Or giving differnt bonuses to differnt types of champions depending on what class they are. So Riot could theoretically revert the lethality changes and then if they don't want adc's using armor pen but still want them to have the option to build youmuu's they could make it where the champions they don't want building the item for armor pene get reduced stats from the item or maybe even different stats. Or if they want to buff armor items and keep things like tank ekko out of the game just reduce the stat value for the tank assasains. Or if certain champions use an item to well so that the item has to be nerfed so that only one or two champions then riot can buff that item and give reduced stats to the champions who use it to well.

They could even make bruisers scale well with two or three defensive items and then make it where any more defensive items on top of that scale worse or get reduced stats then they would on an actual tank.

If they want to buff say draven instead of buffing his kit they could make it where Draven would receive the old Bloodthirster instead of the current one at completion which gives 100 ad and 20% lifesteal. Also champions with similiar kits or playstyles have a problem where the stronger one gets played and then theres no reason to play the other champions but it can be changed by switching up how both champions interact and scale with the same items.

This is wrong, if you watch any game online, people group up to take objectives like towers, barracks and rosh, they do play the vision game too. It needs team work, if your team is not coordinated you will lose. It is not so simple to say you can win even if you lack team work, not true at all. I have played so many games where one guy is carrying but doesnt listen tot eh team and get blown up in one crucial fight, its gg for us. Dota needs more team work than you think it needs.

Infact i actually feel that snowballing is easier in league and there is no punishment for death, so it makes it less team work dependent than dota.

One example is, the map in league is so small that if you can manage to ace the enemy you can sweep all lanes clean, in dota you cannot go sweep all lanes.
