How do you win a promotion?

Ok so I just started playing LoL agian and started in S4. Not as high as last season but I thought it would be easy to get to gold which is always my goal. And to some extent yes it is. I got a 62% on my leona which in a game in which 10 people all should all a equal influence on the games outcome I say is really good. And after 22 wins I've gotten to my series 4 times AND lost of all them. The last 2 times I got a series I was on a win streak of 3 but the second I start a series all shit hits the fan and I lose. Part of it is bad luck but I also know I get really nervous and make mistakes I normally wouldn't.

And today got another series after a win streak of 3 and I lost the first series game.... I don't know what to do! Do you guys have any advice?

I had great luck only playing 1-2 matches a night rather than trying to get through the next division in one go. Even if it's the worst match ever, I won't tilt because I won't play another match, and if it's a good match I don't push my luck with more. As soon as I tried to do several I went on my first losing streak -_-
