The problem with the LP system
So last week I started playing ranked again, I had a steady 27 LP gain.
I won 8 games in a row, still at 27 LP gain.
Then lost 3 in a row and my LP gain went down to 26 per game, how in anyway is this logical?

Lol why are you even mad?
I'm not mad, I can still get out of each rank in 4 wins to series instead of 5, but I want to address the problem.
Well keep in mind that your LP gains are based on your mmr relative to the division you're in. Winning 8 games in a row at 27 LP a pop makes it seem pretty likely you probably climbed a division or two, and so despite your mmr increasing as a side effect of the wins, your division increased as well so that net effect on your LP gains was no change.
When you starting losing a bunch in a row, your mmr started to fall again (but your presumably stayed in the same division during those losses), so there wasn't a compensating effect, and so your LP gains went down to 'only' 26 per game. Presumably after 3-4 games of winning in your starting division you would have gotten up to 28 LP per win if you'd stayed in that division, it's just promotions slow your LP gains.
