Who counters Caitlyn in lane right now?

I'm having a hard time dealing with her. And only her. No other adc is a problem for me, but this bitch got to go. What ADCs have the best matchups against her? I always assumed the way to beat her was hard engages with champions like Lucian and Draven but now she's really countering them because of their short range. So what the hell do you do to beat her?

Sivir's always been a counter pick to Caitlyn, traps are free mana and Cait has one long CD poke that's easily spellshielded. Other than that, Jinx has always been a pain because she has just as long range negating Cait's main strong point, and rockets hurt just as much as headshot.

Lucian actually does okay vs her, you have to poke from range through creeps though; avoid trades unless you have all abilities up. But if you can get your item 3142 power spike before she hits IE, you can just charge in through a gap in the traps and kill her.

Also, a lot of bot lane has to do with the support. Like, a good Thresh hook can force a flash or kill, since net has a wind up time; similarly for Blitzcrank.

A really skilled Draven is known to beat her up. But it basically takes x10 the effort on your part.

You could go Ashe and have similar range. A support with you with solid cc or solid damage on top of your ultimate and you can pick killer fights and provide engage for your team. Ashe's Q adds surprising damage and they made it an auto reset at some point when it wasn't before.

Tristana is very good with a hard CC support. Tristana has very good all in that can kill and displace Caitlyn. The key thing to keep in mind picking Tristana is " Can my support keep my target in place for me to stack E" to abuse her full engage + reset

All of these champs have very potent all in; that's the similar theme

As someone who plays Caitlyn, it pains me to do this, but...

  1. She's not that fast early game. Even with runes and masteries popping, she is still slow to get going, as with any ADC.
  2. She has to stand still to shoot. If you can see her lining up a shot, move out of the way and draw a bead on her instead.
  3. Zone her out. You have to play aggressive to do this, but if you constantly deny her farm, she can't build crap.
  4. Bait her into using her abilities early. She's mana-hungry in her first few levels.
  5. Step on her traps when she has backed. This will avoid the headshot passive.
  6. Any movement hampering effects will kill her. Remember, she's squishy, and most of us build her as a glass cannon.
  7. Ashe and Sivir can out-rage her. Tristana can harass with her E.
  8. If you are paired with a Thresh, Taric, Lux (Oh, Lux, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.), or even a Braum, you have a leg up if they now how and when to stun, root, slow... You get the picture.
  9. Don't step into the bushes. Any good Cait will have the bushes trapped so she won't have to waste a ward. If you step on one in the bush, she can instantly see you. If this happens, make sure she has either gone back or she is not within visible range. She needs to walk up to shoot you, and you're only rooted for about a second.

I hope this helps.

You play lucian and you're complaining about caitlyn? Lol the only champ that needs to go is lucians bitch ass..

If you wanna beat caitlyn

You pick lucian/Jinx/Twitch/Ashe

All counter caitlyn. You dont have trouble with her range. You're just letting her freepoke. She cant all in.. .Something Lucian does very very well..

A friend of mine pulls off a great Caitlyn Counter with Tristana, because of Tristana's passive, which increases her range as she levels up. Eventually, her range supersedes Caitlyn's naturally at level 16, and matches it at 15, but Tristana has superior objective takedown skills, multiple escapes, and overall better firepower. Furthermore, to further even the playing field, Rapid Firecannon has a passive that increases range every few shots, while also granting stats favorable to Tristana.

You can attempt to outpoke her with champions that have low cost long range abilities, like Jhin's W (2500 range, 50-90 mana, but Jhin rarely has mana issues due to the combo of his passive and Essence Reaver), or Jinx Q (range 750, 20 mana per attack), or even Graves' Q and W (950 range each, one of which deals massive physical damage, and the other giving her her near sightedness so she can't attack you nor see your movement, all the while dealing magic damage).

Additionally, CC heavy supports like Blitzcrank and (my personal favorite) support Nautilus make it so that Caitlyn can't escape the range of hard hitting short range ADCs like Graves, Jhin, and Lucian.

Teemo can stop her auto attacks with his blind, and make it unsafe for her to be in lane with his traps. He has an escape in his W, and passive magic damage on his E to discourage damage trades.

The beautiful thing about League is that there is always multiple ways to skin a cat or counter a champ.

Except Teemo. There's nothing you can do about him.

So basically what I'm getting is the best way to beat Cait in lane is push hard as hell, keep her ass under tower, prevent the opposite situation of her pushing you under tower at all costs, and ward up cause you're probably going to get ganked doing this. It probably won't net you kills in lane like this though.
