Is it normal to face a level 17 account (very new player) if you're level +150 in normals
I played jungle and the enemy jungle was just level 17, it was a stomp but even I didn't think it was fair. Does that happen in normals often?

Only when the lower level player is duo with a higher level.
Normals have ridiculous matchmaking
shit most of the time i play normals im matched with or against plat players and sometimes diamonds or higher. i legit played with a master tier player in normals.

It's shouldn't happen, but that's how things are unfortunately... One time I had to play against a Platinum player, even tho my rank is Iron - Bronze division. I won the game (because my team where doing better all around), but that guy stomp our Top laner hard. And I hate It vise versa, not a fan of facing people at lvl 30, soma can be smurfs, yes, but sometimes It's clearly a new player, and I'm just ruining their experience.
Matchmaking is based off of MMR and whether or not the person is using an alt account.
Aram, I got matched with a guy who installed the game 1 month ago. The game before or so with a Diamond 3.

Is a smurf
Or is duo with someone, as most new players do. LoL is a multiplayer game.
Alternatively, your normal MMR could just be really low and theirs really high. Level and number of games played arent a factor at all when determining matchup, just typical indicators of what youd expect as a side result.
Normals cannot function the same way as ranked.
