At least old Evelynn didn't make the game a 4v5 for her team.
Like seriously, who thought her w was a good gameplay pattern. late game it pretty much doesn't exist because you do your combo without it (cant get a jump on someone with that stupid ability.)
Whats the point of an assassin that emerges from the shadows who pretty much screams, "I'm about to jump out!" fit her thematically.

Eh, going to have to disagree here. High elo players abused Evelynn so hard with her old perma stealth they solo carried games. It was more like a 6v5, due to the fact you would have to buy pink wards, and would have to play passively or she would gank. Secondly, Eve doesn't need to land her charm to kill someone, her E, Q, R can kill someone late game instantly, especially if you have Dark Harvest. (Eve main, and also you aren't and most aren't educated on her play style so I can see why you wouldn't understand.)

I've been saying this since the charm was revealed in her rework. It's a balancing nightmare that she's either going to be broken or unusable based on a few number tweaks.
Her W takes up way too much power budget from the rest of her kit for the sole reason that it only alerts her location once the charm is already fully primed. The location arrow should show up 1.5 seconds before the charm itself is fully primed to shore up power budget for the rest of her kit. Since her full assassin combo would have the consistent 1.5 second reaction period of other assassins, there would be much less problems making the rest of her abilities more in line with their versatility in her pre-rework version. Her E could scale with AD and the empowered version could apply multiple on-hit effects like the old version, she could get increased speed moving toward W-marked targets, and her stealth could be shrunken since the reaction time for her would be moved to her charm's indicator instead of her stealth radius.
You can pick off the adc in the backline. She is invisible, you know.
I've said it before, but I think evelynn is going to need another rework where riot is going to have to choose between stealth and charm. Mechanically speaking her kit is barely holding together.
Uhh... Eve main here and I prefer the new evelynn over the old as this one has late game too especially if you run dark harvest.. and her W is her new MAIN ability as when it pops it charms them and usually is a successful gank or a kill... and your point about "I'm about to jump out" works in eve's favour as when she uses W people usually move back and if not she has her Q which has enough range to pop the charm regardless and even if the skill shot is missed you are still able to press Q again to pop the charm... To say old evelynn is better than the new one and that the new eve makes it a 4v5 is RIDICULOUS and just shows that you clearly have NO IDEA what you're talking about. To end.. Evelynn is an AMAZING champ that is both fun and someone that can carry games.
I haven't had a negative game with Eve yet, and I'm usually a monster with low deaths and extremely high kills.
Evelynn is not that weak, and her W is not nearly as bad of an ability as some would say. It is true that the typical combat pattern that you use your W in does change over the course of the game, but that does not make it inherently bad. In fact, I'd say that makes it a rather interesting ability and I'd love to see Riot implement more like it in the future. I think that complaining about her W is a pretty clear sign of having not played her enough yet, and not experimenting enough with its use cases in-game.
Also, even if you were right about Eve's W being bad, it wouldn't justify the claim you make in your title. Old Eve was a uniquely disgusting kind of cancer on the game.
