What's with every game I play being a giant landslide?

It's either crappy people on my team or on the other peoples teams. There's no balance to good and bad players... At all. I thought once I hit ranked queues it would get better and it hasn't. I got in silver 2 and I carried hardcore to silver 1. I then carried hard to gold 5. But now that I am in gold 4, I cannot for the life of me carry a game. It's either me and 2 other players on my team who are actually good dominating the shit out of everyone, or 3 people on the other team dominating the shit out of everyone on my team while I try my hardest to stop them from dying with their horrible ability to play this game with any level of competency.

What is with these games never being even? Never being fun, either a landslide one way or the other. Idk, I just expected more from the system after playing for over 2 years, and the game being out for like 5-6 years or something.

Just such a horrible matchmaking system setting up 50% win 50% loss no matter how much better or worse you are than other players.

think about it... riot wants you to play as many games as possible so you can buy into their skins and other bullshit. if you won all the way to challenger league, you would quit and not buy anything

I admit Gold+ is a lot of landslide victories because people make less mistakes for their opponents to capitalize on. If you really want to know specifically why your games are like that, then check your match history (browser version), there's a graph that shows how ahead the winning team is at each point of the game, and I think also what objectives they took.

But more to the point, if it wasn't a 50/50 balance system then everyone will eventually make it to challenger if they played enough games, which you arguably can do already.

The game snowballs super hard because Riot doesn't understand their game well enough to actually fix it instead of just making it worse.

It's built into the game. Get a few kills ahead of someone you are only slightly better than mechanically and suddenly you start to stomp them. The only way to build a MOBA without this dynamic would be to have no items and either static progression or no progression (which would make the game something else entirely). In other words snowballing is part of the genre and is never going away. At most it can be artificially mitigated via secondary game systems (like rewarding extra gold for ending a killing spree).

When I was playing in August and was around level 12 or so, I was getting close matches all the time. Now they are 90% stomps. Riot's system is getting worse with time.

Snowballing is worse in every other MOBA I've played. I tend to think it has more to do with the genre than Riot simply not caring.

I agree. It doesn't have to do with the person's general skill level, since it is generally the same at a given level. I use lolskill, it shows people's stats with the champ. It is a more accurate way to judge someone since it isn't judged 100% on a win/loss ratio. Anyway, I see that most of the time, especially since reaching low gold, a shit ton of people are playing new champions. So they don't know their champ and they feed. Then they just do stupid shit because they don't care about the game (otherwise they wouldn't be doing stupid things like going first time champs). They know they aren't making it to plat, so they don't care and don't try. It is really annoying. I think reporting someone for unskilled should actually have some weight to it.
